I would like to infuse music therapy into my instruction. That was my aim at my last school until it was brought to my attention that had a keyboard been purchased for me, the kids would’ve smashed it. Those poor kids were beyond rehabilitation. The trauma they were enduring was frightening.

I’ll have to explore Ms. Meier; thank you for that suggestion! I am thinking of becoming licensed in school business as opposed to curriculum and instruction. My aim, if I teach, is to shift to grades 5-12 special education, mild to moderate disabilities. I am also a musician, so…

Thank you for the compliment and encouragement. I had a wonderful class, I was told, so I might have been blessed last fall. I have not given up hope to teach again. Whether I end up in admin or in the classroom is what I’m figuring out.

So, we got the worst-behaved students from each of the eight states we were serving. The kids also knew that the school was their last stop. All discipline had to be administered in the classroom, too, so admin support was little to none. The kids knew the consequences were minimal, as well.

You’re exactly correct, Pax! When these kids were one-on-one with me, they were each excellent; however, when grouped together, they were violently rambunctious. The school was their last stop, too, as the main criterion for admission was to have been rejected by every other rehab program available.

I taught at a special school for troubled youth but left after a short time there, as I couldn’t deal with the violence. I’m back in the private sector for now while I reevaluate things. I am also working towards my license to be a school business official, as I meet those criteria.

When I student-taught third grade last fall, I taught fundamental critical thinking skills to my students so they could begin to instill that skill in themselves. I taught them to respectfully question anything that didn’t feel right and to not accept a truth just because they’re told to do so.

As someone who was married to a librarian for nine years, I can tell you with certainty that librarians are the purveyors of free knowledge; knowledge is power.

I LOVE this! As I always to to my kids and to myself, “tomorrow is a new day, and each new days brings new hopes and dreams, so get up early and go out and be the change you want to see. It’s your day!”

That’s a child with a keen sense of observation. You’ve certainly made an indelible impression on his life, too. From one educator to another, thank you for your service to building our children’s future through education.

I was married to a librarian for nine years and learned a lot about libraries. I couldn’t appreciate libraries more if I tried; they’re the heart and soul of academia and an integral component to early literacy.

Take them to see Hadestown! My high school alma mater and local high school did amazing productions of this spectacular musical over the last year.

This is exactly what makes DHS under Trump a criminal organization. Trump talks about patriots who are honorably serving our country. Well, shithead Trump, you’re deporting them! 🤦‍♂️

My eldest son is soon off to theater camp for the week. He and the other students will produce their own musical from scratch and perform it live this Friday.

Last night, I was mesmerized by my son’s technical proficiency on his clarinet repertoire for his upcoming recital. The growth he’s shown in a little under two years is absolutely stunning.

I absolutely ADORE AOC! She’s not only presidential material, but she also imparts a degree of humanity on us all that is rarely seen today. We are lucky to have her, and may she be an inspiration to girls and women across the globe who aspire to effect hope and change.

If anything, diet soda could contribute to cancer; I’ve heard that some diet sodas contain chemicals that are used in paint thinner. Just drink the real soda and temper your consumption. That’s much safer and is what I do.

The Berkshire’s of Western MA hit 86 yesterday and 83 the day before, both with relatively low humidity. Now, it’s about 62 and drizzling out there. We’re due for a high of 42 and a low of 25 on Monday. If you don’t like the weather, wait a minute, right? That’s what we say in New England!!!

I not so suddenly want republicans out of politics. This should’ve happened at the end of Reagan’s term. Get out to vote this November and take our country back!

As an ocean lover, this is exactly what I needed. Thank you for posting this! The very first home I owned I was 5.1 miles from the seashore in southeastern Massachusetts. Words alone can’t explain how much I miss the smell of sea salt in the air each morning I awoke.

I need a car because I live in a very rural area; however, we just got a newer Hyundai hybrid. This car spends quite a bit of time in EV mode, too, which is remarkable for a hybrid. I’ve not once before used so little in gas with virtually no change in my driving habits.

It’s about time; thanks, Mayor Mamdani and Gov. Hochul, for taking the lead on such an imperative!

Can we block his warrantless presidency, too, and unblock the Epstein files?

We just happen to have a Pope who brings much-needed common sense to the conversation.

Trump is bullying the Pope only because he sees the Pope’s logic as a threat to a ruinous foreign policy agenda that is further isolating us and sending global markets into a tailspin.

While the right is weak on war crimes, as is evidenced in Iran and wherever else he may decide to start a war.

As he should. If he has any modicum of integrity left, he’ll resign his seat; otherwise, he’s no better than the orange idiot. From one Eric to another, always do the right thing. You screwed up, so get out of congress and save our party. We have a great chance for a big, blue wave this November.

I had a date last night, and how I wish it was a date with a date. 😆 That was three hours of my life that I’ll never recover.
