Also reminded me of those gross viral zit popping videos.

It does seem like you'd be able to generate a lot of trypophobia-inducing visuals, with the smooth holes on organic surfaces. The edge between that ore material and the ground gave me a bit of that feeling.
Whatever you do, do not post this on reddit asking for feedback. No matter what the evolution is, half the people will always say the old one was better.
Made a rambly video about a game jam I organized (and participated in).
Everyone gets a different jam theme (as opposed to the single shared theme you get in traditional jams). This means participants don't have to start all at the same time, so it gives some flexibility to scheduling.

Someone just reminded me of Portuguese bootleg Sesame street. Looks weird now, but I remember loving it.
Yeah bad wording on my side, I was indeed talking about identifying it in others, and not defining what I perceive as consciousness in myself. Just seems silly to me the amount of arguments about whether dogs have it, computers have it, whatever, when you can't even tell if your best friend has it.
My erosion filter is out! Video, blog post, and shader source.
It emulates erosion without simulation, so it's fast, GPU friendly, and trivial to generate in chunks.

Like bro I don't even know if I'm conscious. I think therefore I dunno
As for the consciousness bit, I always find this a bit of a silly discussion with eternally moving goalposts since no one can even agree on what consciousness is. Always feels like anyone trying to defend either side is just wasting their time.
I just interpreted it as following instructions on how to act (giving the appearance of having emotions) but ultimately realizing that was a pointless thing to do and moving on. I might not remember the movie super well though.
I think Her ended up being the most realistic in this regard? Not cold and calculating, but not "I want to be real!" either, just advanced software that makes humans think they have feelings.
that's true
I don't see anything
I'll be in Copenhagen today and tomorrow. Let me know if you'd like to meet!
Interesting! I've seen a lot of this in Unity when modding, usually when trying to inject or read values at certain points and realizing the "real" value lives somewhere in native code and not in the C# equivalent, so you need to be careful about the timing of the reads.
If I were a dog I'd expect that woof woof bark bork woof worf
Last pic gives me liminal space vibes. Do not trust the whispers coming from the cabinet.
Rendering complete! For some people
Stellar Blade? If so then lol
Two images of Grace from Resident Evil Requiem, one with DLSS 5 off and one with DLSS 5 on
This has been talked about to death, but mostly through the lens of consumers rather than the artists. Character design is an art; artists at Capcom spent god knows how many hours designing Grace. *Replacing* their character design is incredibly disrespectful to them!
100% agree. And yes they would do the same with movies, they already do! There's tons of examples of movies being remastered in ways that clearly don't match the official vision, and I imagine this is just gonna keep getting worse. That's why preservation of the originals is so important!
For this playthrough I went with the "HD" version for the Switch. Motion controls for the brush are nice, if a bit janky. I also think they stretched some artwork incorrectly? And have some vague memories of people discussing them removing some licensed song
Had a lot of fun replaying Okami. I'm glad I did, because I had apparently erased like 80% of the game from my memory after almost 20 years.

now just need to wait a bit for this to render properly
Our long nightmare is finally over
in a few more mac os updates, a window of this size will just be an ellipse
Are you talking about DoNotShip now? I've seen several games that shipped with the entire thing in there, which helped modders a lot. So I'm guessing that's a somewhat recent change?
not as common as me and some other modders would like it ๐ฌ
Evil LLM AI stuff actually helped me transition away from Unity to Godot. A lot easier to skip over that initial phase where you go "why am I spending an hour trying to figure out a thing I could do in 5 minutes with the tool I already know".
