also how do the scale of these numbers not give these people more pause. like ok I know it's because they're dumb. but I would maybe think harder about one-click blocking a number of people that's like 20% of the active userbase, especially if I was in some kind of forward facing role
like you don't even have to interact with this guy to have core advertised functionality of the site break all you have to do is mildly disagree with his worldview enough to get added to a troll blocklist lol
this is not an acceptable way to run *anything*. how do these failsons get jobs dude
i wasn't using it but it is such unserious site things that access to the Quiet Posters feed, which is part of the functionality the site has advertised on official accounts just broke for 300k people because it runs out of the tech advisor's personal account and he's a thin skinned AI baby
The English Wikipedia article for "List of best-selling video games" featuring Tetris and Minecraft in the number 1 spot.
I'm posting about this cause I was recently made aware that English Wikipedia's article on the best selling video games re-added Tetris, combining all Tetris games as if it were a singular game. It's a rather interesting choice that I don't quite vibe with but I'm not here to complain about it.
English Wikipedia article for Tetris, noting it is a singular video game.
English Wikipedia article for Puyo Puyo, noting it is a series of video games.
Kind of odd that on English Wikipedia, Tetris is considered as a singular video game but Puyo Puyo is considered a series of video games, and that's despite the fact that both had similar evolution in their game design across several decades. How is one puzzle game singular but another a series?
Yeah, it's a bit messy over there. There are some pages for individual versions, but those have their own issues. For instance, there's a page for GB which describes DX as a "remaster," when the two games are nothing alike. I'm not sure how one would go about straightening out those misconceptions.
the mobile game in question appears to be Kingdom Hearts Union χ
There's very little info about this online, but apparently back in 1979 there was a Lupin III popsicle that you could buy to get a chance to win a Nintendo Block-Kuzushi machine.
I only learned about this when I saw that one of the winning machines was for sale, so I decided to buy it:
phantoon decides how long it'll be before she opens her eye at the same time as that she decides whether to attack left or right so it means that the numbers are extremely connected to one another thru the rng system (pulling twice in one frame problem) and some combinations almost never happen
whoops i dropped my shippu mahou daisakusen nirvana 2-all youtu.be/e_3et4m1RQI
acteually fucking dying at the tas-only strategy for doing a shinespark here it's like fuckin white rabbit of inaba shit
It's interesting how internet connectivity has basically ruined the experience of using older consoles to some degree. Booted up an Xbox One S today and it's so darn slow - just insanely bad. Up to date 360s and PS3s are slow too. Yet, you boot a PS2 or a GCN? Feels as snappy as ever.
this stuff exists because streaming platforms use AI transcription to follow the letter of the ADA or similar disability laws (that captions need to be there but not 100% correct) for as little money as possible. I think the only way they'll do anything about it is if the law changes to force them
yeah 1.1-3.1 were somewhat described in Steam patch note updates and on Twitter but like... not in-game. they're TGM1-3 "remix" modes along the lines of Master, Death, and Shirase. we got them in the update after they inexplicably fucked up vanilla Normal and made it slower than TGM1.
Normal grade is pretty all-or-nothing, so Two of Ten is a solid start. Play Normal 1.1 instead now that you've unlocked it to get the granularity in feedback of actual 9-S9 grades.
do people still say "action-adventure" ? that genre tag seems to fit the thesis of "adventure-like" structures being present in what was perceived as a hybrid genre
I think it's an understandable blind spot considering that scoring 2-ALL seemed to be the goal of previous English-language research.
They also missed how per-stage survival rank worked (i.e., speedrunning = rank control), which I think resulted in them a) over-indexing on slow stage strats, b) needing strategies for boss patterns that are dangerous at max rank, and c) concluding that meant 2nd loop race wins weren't viable.
I think the previous author was just optimizing so much around scoring/survival that they came to different conclusions about what racing consistency could look like.
this seems to work as a boost strat but the timing for moving up is tight, if you're early you hit a shuriken and die, if you're late you bump into the guys
oh good nerdy shit about when dithering actually blends
fwiw, you won't get scanlines on a PC CRT. it's something specific to how consoles abused TV standards to send 240p instead of 480i.
Along with the Senior Producer position, @digitaleclipse.bsky.social is also looking for a QA Manager, so please apply if you are interested. The position is ideally local in our Emeryville studio, but we are open to potential remote candidates.

That was the main reason for the ban. But when you have a dozen people with stories of harassment who don't want to be identified until they feel safe reporting them, I'm still not giving up. Speaking about harassment is protected by the EEOC - doesn't matter if they don't like how I spoke about it.
They complained about the BlueSky posts. "A number of these public posts are vaguely targeted, with no report to GDQ Management nor Safety. These public accusations of harassment by GDQ staff members without actionable reports do not help GDQ in ending harassment."
Confirmed: I am banned from GDQ as a vendor, runner, commentator, host - essentially anything other than attending.
Again, this is why people are worried about speaking up about harassment.
I'm speechless
i like to arrange my mac os dock so that frequently-used, low-memory apps like notes and calculator are right next to an app called Globohension Extracticrash Agnostify Compression Engine Mk. XIX that takes 45 minutes to load, five hours to close, and can only be used outdoors
