On Saturday night, an innocent member of our community was targeted and assaulted in the Church-Wellesley area in what police are investigating as an unprovoked hate crime. I condemn this cowardly act in the strongest possible terms.

I have asked staff to look into interim measures while we wait for construction to start in 2030🤞🏽. They have to wait for the Ontario Line Queen station to finish before they can start. I asked why they can’t do it in coordination and was told they can’t have two contractors digging in the same area.

When clocks “spring forward” tonight at 2 a.m., pedestrians and cyclists travelling in the morning are harder to see. Help keep Toronto’s streets safe for everyone. Drive safely, obey the speed limit and stay alert.

It’s also time to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

Stories build our city. 🗝️✨

At Mayor Chow’s Black History Month Reception, we celebrated a true storyteller. Watching Dr. Itah Sadu receive the Key to the City for decades of community building was the absolute highlight.

Bullying has no place in our schools, our workplaces, or our city. 👚💗

Today, I’m wearing a pink shirt to stand up against bullying in all its forms. It’s a simple symbol, but its message is crucial: kindness and inclusion are non-negotiable.

Let’s lift each other up -- today and every day.

Canadian flag waving in the wind against a backdrop of tall city buildings on a cloudy day.

February 15 marks the National Flag of Canada Day. 🍁

It commemorates the first time the red and white maple leaf flag was raised on Parliament Hill in 1965.

To celebrate, we’ll be flying an extra-large Canadian flag in Nathan Phillips Square and lighting the Toronto sign red and white.
