What does it say about our age that the signature technology our geniuses come up with excels at 2 things: flattering and mimicking us ("great question, Dave") – and making it easier to kill other people with "overwhelming lethality" and superhuman speed?

And how can you call yourself a socialist supporting these religious crazies who killed the secular resistance fighters of Fatah when they came to power?

2 days ago 1 0 2 0

Rape is not resistance, as well as killing festival goers

2 days ago 3 0 2 0

Well, a massacre including rape and killing of whole families is certainly not ‚„resistence“. Apart from the war crimes they committed, they also doomed the Palestinian cause.

Occupation has been „temporary“ in the Westbank for 59 years now, that term is useless.
They will never give the 50 % of Gaza back they control. People there live in squalor. It’s an outrage.
Militarily, Hamas has been defeated long ago. (Good!)
🇮🇱 is going down a terrible path.

What I will never defend: the killing of at least 70000 people in Gaza, the reoccupation of 50 % of Gaza, the occupation of Southern Lebanon, and threats against Iranian civilization.
Permanent war („Sparta“ in Netanyahu‘s words) is a dead end. Don’t get me started about the West Bank.

I defended Israel‘s right to hit back hard and eliminate the threat from both. That was achieved with Hamas around summer 24. I admire the pager attack, I defended the killing of Nasrallah. And the war against Iran‘s nuclear sites last year.
The rest is politics, there needs to be a deal.

Do you follow what happens in Gaza, how people live there?
Hundreds of thousands have been displaced in Lebanon, many villages just blown up.
But Hamas is still there, as is Hezbollah. As are the Taliban.
The war on terror is a failure.

Maybe it’s better no to treat Trump’s „truths“ about Iran and Lebanon as foreign policy statements - but as geopolitical insider trading schemes?
Some people are certainly „making a killing“ as they say.

One of the worst phrases thrown around all the time (regarding Gaza, now Iran and Lebanon):
„finish the job“.
The dehumanization is right there in this word, it’s a cover for deeds we used to consider war crimes.

Extract from an essay by former British diplomat Alexandra Hall Hall about her anger against Trump

Excellent piece by former British diplomat (and American citizen) Alexandra Hall Hall on the need for more anger against Trump's America.

...practice multi-alignment without penalty. For big powers, it is disorder, for middle powers it's a world of endless opportunities.
China, not a traditional great power with the ambition to order the world, profits from Trump's superpower suicide by shoring up partnerships all over the place.

The idea that we are living in an era of "Great Power politics" needs revising.
The greatest military power in the world cannot overwhelm a broken, universally hated pariah state.
The Number 1 nuclear power ruins itself against a neighbour 1/5 its size. Middle powers all over the world ....1/2
