Its fine for an anime to get heavy late in the season but episode 1?!
I do love the animation though. Thats probably part of the reason it hits so hard. The art has a really understated beauty interspersed with sudden powerful moments. It makes the sad parts hit like a wrecking ball.

I forgot about that lol the magic is super cool and the humour is funny. Lot of gorgeous wide shots. Beautiful music. But I was wheeping by the end of the first episode
Its a very pretty anime. And episode e has caused any sudden crying fits yet, though im.only 2/3s the way through. One lives in hope
At least the first few episodes, yeah
Im trying to watch Frieren again. Episode 2 made me cry too, what the hell
For*
It should be against the rules first an anime to make you cry in the first episode @^@
Ive played a few Mario games. Some old some new. The only yoshi's island ive played was my brother's SNES version, but that was quite a long time ago. I havent even seen the new movie. My friend says its good, but I didnt really enjoy the last one,so ive sort of been dragging my feet to see this one
Lol I get that. Sometimes its fun to really sink teeth into some fun lore debate and I wasnt trying to brush you off or anything. Im just genuinely not into it enough to be able to. I've played some Mario games but not all of them. So I dont know enough to argue it.
I do not want to be a Mario game lore pedant lol. Take the "cousin" thing however you like. Never played Yoshi's Island DS. Haven't seen the new movie. I just saw that snippet a few days before this thread. There are loads of things im pedantic about but this is not one of the them lol
Kind of want to get back into 3d sculpting. Maybe with a bit of animating. Getting a wee bit of that pre-hyperfixation itch.
Tim has nothing but disdain for society's heteronormative gendered naming conventions.
Tim.
P.s. Couldn't resist the colour, huh?
@knottybiscotti.bsky.social wrote a VERY spicy story inspired by some of my art! I enjoyed it quite a lot! If you enjoy a cheeky bit of #incest you should definitely give it a read! >:3
Nabby has quite the conundrum,
And, by no means, is it humdrum!
If Carrot up high,
Then let the likes fly,
But if carrots down low,
Well, you know where to go!

You have personally seen so many of my sketches that never get rendered and thats a big reason why =3=
Its why I started doing the "flats under sketches" things. But someone actually payed for this so it actually needs to be rendered
The computer virus thing just threw me off lol. I was like 'was there a second y2k? Did I somehow miss something?'
Yeah I got that when you brought up the toilet paper thing
I don't think I know that one
Oh yeah. This has happened to me with writing, programing, sculpting.
Its a drawing right now but I feel like it's a pretty universal thing in the creative process ×3×
You guys ever spend hours rendering a picture only to step back and see that its a formless directionless mess? And you know.. you KNOW that you'd save yourself more time and pain in the long run if you just start over but you've already spent all morning picking away at it so you really dont wanna?
Lol I really want that shirt
I saw that the other day lol existential crisis
Thats what it said when I spent like 40 seconds googling it. -shrug- im not willing to die on this hill or anything though.
I mean, Nintendo worked with them on it. Thats why its called "Official"
But these are imaginary characters, so view them however you like.
A clip from the Mario Kart official strategy guide showing a character description of Daisy. It reads "Daisy Hi, I'm Daisy! Peach's cousin is louder and less proper, but she's always friendly to Mario and Luigi for saving her from Tatanga the Mysterious Spaceman."
"Peach's cousin"
Daisy is Peach's cousin. If Rosalina is Peache's sister, she's hers too, so mean... they are related.
But incest? That's an awfully strong word for cheek kisses
We're being ruled by the the most empty, unimaginative, incurious, void of creativity group of people imaginable
Its this overwhelming sense that only the result matters. That the journey and process don't matter, but thats wrong. The journey matters more. If you can write a book report without reading the book, what did you learn from the book? We dont make kids do it for the paper at the end!
My worry is that the damage is already being done. There are kids right now going through school without learning any of this. One of these days those kids are going to be adults with the rest of us and too stupid function in an adult's world because they never learned how to read.
