Southwest is dismantling what made them stand out. With baggage fees, seat assignments, outdated planes lacking charging ports and in flight entertainment, what’s the incentive to fly with them anymore? Feels like a recession era cash grab. Ridiculous.

Southwest is hilarious because nobody was flying southwest because they loved it. They only flew it because of the 2 free checked bags.

The company I work for got bought out by one and they stripped us for parts, removed everything that made us unique, and took our bonuses. I hate private equity with a passion. Truly they are crushing the American dream one company at a time.

I’ve already been in so many Southwest flights that were just me and like 5 other people. It was nice having free bags on ski trips. Hope the bags make up for the lost revenue of even 20% of ticket sales.

It was the only thing keeping us using them for ski trips. The flights are long and we were already debating leaving. We’re cancelling out Southwest cards for sure now. Sucks to see private equity make America suck just a little more day by day

Agreed, and the only thing making me choose them over other discount lines WAS the free bags. Without that, they have no “pros” on the pros and cons list between them and other shit tier lines.

Private equity is a cancer that strips companies of their souls. When unlimited growth suffocates other functions in a cell, we cut it off. But if it’s a company we celebrate it. Private equity is turning America into a soulless strip mall country.
