how do you think Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, Carly Pearce, truly ANY number of mainstream country stars started their carers? by playing "nice" and inoffensive to country radio. It's not their persona it's the system that surrounds them!

The new queen of country music has no scandals and no gimmicks — and just broke a record set by Taylor Swift Ella Langley just did what no female country artist has done since 2012.

claiming that Ella is having success b/c of "her pleasantly inoffensive persona" is a total misread of how the careers of almost all women in country start. If country is going to have this "moment" - which it is - it deserves to be accurately contextualized! Ella, too.
