I want to be able to like and repost charming nature and architecture pics and amusing videos but we need some kind of labelling system as to whether they are fake AI or not.

Pictures that look too good to be true from random accounts just can’t be trusted.

Ditto all the artists on here.

my wife having trouble with her hand and shoulder after “upgrading” from an SE to the bigger 16.

Years ago I had a giant Sony Xperia and I got cramps in my hand so bad I was struggling to play guitar. Gave it up and saw an immediate improvement.

last time I checked, which was like over a year ago, I was on over 30 blocklists called things like “tiresome centrist snark” and “liberal drama queens” …so the system does work!

I’m hoping Apple make the iPhone Fold and then realise how many people would pay cash £ for just the front half of it: a slim, SE formfactor smart phone.

Might help cover the development costs and target a market who would never otherwise afford or want the Fold itself.

I can dream! #smallphones

If there's no alt text and no source I generally mute or block the account depending on other stuff.

a good rule of thumb - the AI stuff often doesn’t have any alt text, it’s a good tell for a low quality, volume poster - there’s no reason why they couldn’t use AI to produce the alt text other than they don’t care, it’s the total lack of care that gives it away

also please add me to the anti-AI blocklists to help get this slop off my timeline

Ive blocked them for behaving like a troll. Getting worried about this place tbh the senior staff are too keen to wind up their own users.

Yes! I was going to suggest Sunset Beach, where nothing ever seemed to move the story forward. The episode would start with someone reaching for a door handle that would lead to them walking in on a conversation… and end the same way. One of the main characters as imprisoned by his evil twin.

Weirdly you can sum up the entire worldview of the GOP and the evangelical right as being against:

homos,
hormones,
homous
and hormuz.

Only this American regime could make the end of the world so profoundly repetitive.

but it didn’t “go wrong” - it drove loads of people to its website to watch the adverts hosted there - people who would normally give it a wide berth, they’ve literally used this rage baiting poll trick over and over again and people keep sharing the polls and saying quick everyone let’s vote

So I only use it for recording projects for ÂŁ20 a string is still cheaper than hiring a pro!

Yes you could always do the tie-on frets on a cello - they are just bits of gut or nylon string tied on.

I had rounded metal frets fitted to a donor fiddle and it sounds and plays great, but most violin strings are shredded after a fee hours of playing, especially with guitar style vibrato.
