In its letter, the Clifton Business Association objects to the stop for the Hamilton Avenue Metro Rapid line being placed along Ludlow Avenue between Whitfield and Clifton avenues. Metro plans a stop along Ludlow between Middletown Avenue and Telford Street, which is close to an existing Metro stop in front of the Esquire Theatre. It also is conducting a traffic analysis in the neighborhood. The association lists eight objections. Among them: Ludlow Avenue is too narrow and too busy with many storefronts to handle a large bus station On-street parking “is at a premium” Ludlow Avenue is “an area with many schoolchildren” and bus stations would be “inviting danger with stop-and-go traffic” Ludlow already has bus stops on other routes The rapid transit stops “do not fit in” with the area’s “historical context.”

NIMBYs in Cincinnati's Clifton neighborhood objected to a Hamilton Ave BRT stop in their downtown area. This has to be one of the more comical list of reasons I've seen.

A quirk of the reductions: 5 went from every 25 to 50 mins (schedule still shows as 25 min with cancelled trips instead of 50 mins), but now run bendies??? Guessing Citybus has the assumption that students are “captive ridership” and would ride the bus regardless?

Every other trip on Citybus route 23 cancelled, effectively turning the route into hourly frequencies (aka unusable)

Citybus staffing shortage getting so bad that my local bus route (which dropped from 20 to 30 min frequencies last semester already) now has half of its morning trips cancelled…

If this continues, would be difficult to justify WL’s #6 ranking on @nerd4cities.bsky.social’s video yesterday
