Itâs an absolute joke. Youâre honestly on the Monday when you say big gas is taking the piss.

We also get 26 weeks paid parental leave too!
Same in Australia. We pay 30-40% tax and have free TAFE (like college for trades), free healthcare (but the option of choosing private if we want to), and generally a very high standard of living. Sure we have our problems but a broken leg doesnât mean a GoFundMe. We look at the US and grimace.
I also recommend Nick McKenzieâs book on the investigation. It details the painful standard of proof required to publicly accuse someone of war crimes. www.booktopia.com.au/crossing-the...
This is extraordinary to me because people junior to Roberts-Smith have willingly admitted to the courts that they committed war crimes. Each of these charges carries a life sentence.
Finally, the documents allege Roberts-Smith either shot two prisoners dead after marching them to the edge of a cornfield, or directed his juniors to shoot them. Roberts-Smith then threw a grenade at the dead men.
The court documents state Ben Roberts-Smith also kicked a handcuffed farmer named Ali Jan off a cliff. When the fall didnât kill him, one of Roberts-Smithâs juniors then killed Jan with several shots from a rifle.
They then allege he returned inside the compound, directed a soldier to put a silencer on his gun, forced another detainee to his knees and told the soldier âshoot that cuntâ. That soldier has admitted his role in the murder to the courts.
The documents say one of these people was disabled, carried outside the compound, âthrown to the ground, and shot multiple times by Ben Roberts-Smith with a belt-fed machine gunâ.
They also note that each person was handcuffed, detained, and questioned prior to being killed.
The court documents note that each victim was unarmed, in locations where the Australian Defence Force was in control of the environment, and that evidence (eg a weapon) was planted on the victims.
They have told the courts that they killed these people either at Ben Roberts-Smithâs direction, or were complicit in his murders of them.
Three Australian soldiers junior to Ben Roberts-Smith have admitted to the courts that they were personally involved in killing one or more people they had detained in Afghanistan.
The Statement of Facts has been tendered to the courts on Ben Roberts-Smithâs arrest. Hereâs what you need to know:

The immediate boldness of the hard right in stepping into pure fascism within an hour of Trumpâs inauguration is stunning.
The term youâre looking for is âsieg heilâ and it has no fucking place in 2025.
Iâm curious about your âfell for itâ comment. Is there something fraudulent or was it just general disdain that they reported on it?
Itâs still there for me?
Can someone explain why TikTok is a bigger national security concern than a social media platform run by a South African technofeudal oligarch actively interfering in our elections and sabotaging our national interests here and abroad?
This is why faith in democracy is absolutely crumbling.
Until political parties can no longer accept donations from the very people in the business of destroying the planet it wonât change.
We need to overhaul political donation and lobbying laws like our lives depend on it - because they do.
If only someone had been the president for four years and had the opportunity to do something about this problem đ¤

California: itâs always âtoo early to talk about climate changeâ until you do.
We didnât talk about climate change during bushfires in Australia until our sky turned orange for three months and a billion animals died.
This is climate change, and this is the time to start talking about it.
