If I want money out of politics, I wonāt go for the guy Chevron maxed out to.

Well then it was pretty insane to skip right over Porter, who already had much more support and could have leapfrogged Republicans with half the support Becerraās gotten. Now we have another three-way logjam behind both Republicans.
Swalwell and Becerra are both reliable corporate Dems. And someone has turned on his money faucet, and he has started running lots of ads now. I'll vote for him if he's the only Dem in the general, but not for the primary.
You should listen to Steyer and go to his website, then. Heās been very detailed on how he would achieve those things.
Amazon saw lower prices at competitors and urged the brands to pressure those competitors to raise their prices, which they did. In writing. @robbonta.bsky.social has the receipts of this cartel behavior.

He did that 22 years ago, and divested 20 years ago,
Why does that indicate we should get behind Becerra? Every other poll shows Steyer tied or ahead of him. What is this weird thing that all the duped Swalwell voters immediately flocked to the other most establishment candidate, even though he was at 4%?
No baggage like bi campaign donations from Chevron and law-enforcement groups?
He was the secretary of Health and Human Services.
Steyer is more progressive, is polling well, and getting great endorsements, including - today - Our Revolution. Also Jane Fonda, Ro Khanna, Courage California, Bill McKibben and some of the most progressive members of the Cal. legislature.
Meta just paid the lowest effective federal tax rate in its history.
Thanks to tax breaks and loopholes, it avoided $13.7B in 2025 federal income taxes.
But now it's planning to lay off 10% of its global workforce (8,000 people) by May 20 ā with more job cuts later this year.
Trickle down hoax.
When I think about California's gubernatorial race, theres one thing everyone needs to know about Democrat @xavierbecerra.bsky.social:
As California AG, he demanded the HHS secretary use an existing law to lower medicine prices - and then as HHS secretary he literally refused to do exactly that.
Ah yes, trying hard. Immediate disqualification for governor. I canāt believe the massive gift of Swalwell dropping out has resulted in insiders flocking from him to the guy w/ 4% and now ⦠another three-way tie behind both Rs.
Same same. Thanks.
Who do you prefer? What do you think of Steyer?
Gil Duran tweet: TLDR: Fascism in response to Palantir's long fascists screed on X.
"Your Account is Suspended" Message on X
The CEO of Palantir posted a fascist manifesto on X.
I pointed out that it was fascistāwhich resulted in a permanent suspension from X (my second time!).
So, when you hear the tweeters complaining that BlueSky is intolerant, remember why many of us came here in the first place.
Someone interviewed a Hill staffer saying Swalwell endorsers were likely to go to Steyer, Becerra and Mahan. The hubris to endorse the guy assaulting staffers & then choose a 3-percenter over their colleague whoās top 2 among Dems because sheās mean.
When Swalwell dropped out, my local Dem Party and Indivisible-type Facebook friends flocked to Becerra. I thought it was a bad idea to bring the guy 7 points behind the leaders into another three-way tie for 3rd, but here we are. I donāt get it.
āThe watchdog group Democracy Forwardās February filing states that the case is āextraordinary because the President controls both sides of the litigation, which raises the prospect of collusive litigation tactics.āā
The rise of the shadow docket in 2016 was followed in 2017 by another procedural trick from the Roberts Court, known as "Munsingwear vacatur," which they weaponized to wipe out progressive precedent without having to explain why. Profs. Lisa Tucker (my wife) and Michael Risch (he's not) explain. 1/2
Nadia refused a prison kitchen shift in Colorado. So she was locked in solitary for 30 days. Colorado voters banned prison slavery in 2018. But it continued. This year, a judge ordered the state to stop locking people in solitary for refusing to work.
Reporter: If you donāt have a deal by Wednesday, will you extend the ceasefire or restart attacks? Trump: Maybe I wonāt extend it⦠and weāll have to start dropping bombs again.

When formerly incarcerated people are able to obtain work, it tends to be a low-paying position, keeping them well below the poverty line. āThe No. 1 contributor to recidivism is poverty,ā says a spokesperson for the Prison Policy Initiative.
A tweet from Representative Thomas Massie that reads: I just viewed 2 Top Secret FISA docs. 1) FISA Court opinion that raises serious concerns about FBI implementation of FISA 702. 2) letter by Senator Wyden describing a secret government interpretation of FISA law. The Constitution requires I vote No on FISA 702 reauthorization.
I sent a classified letter to House and Senate colleagues about a secret interpretation of surveillance law that every American should be concerned about.
Representative Massie is right. The Constitution requires EVERY member to vote against a clean reauthorization.
Platner is a few years older than I am. He is old enough to remember when people rightly realized the word "retarded" was a slur for people with disabilities and was not acceptable in any context. The Special Olympics had already started the Spread the Word to End the Word.
