This. Today's ruling is primarily a multidimensional failure of the judicial branch, not really its robustness in the face of authoritarianism. This should never have been a SCOTUS case in the first place, & it shouldn't have taken over a year to get here.

After the Supreme Court ruling, @JBPritzker writes a letter to Trump asking him to pay back the costs of the tariffs to people in his state:

"On behalf of the people of Illinois, I demand a refund of $1,700 for every family in Illinois."

The Washington Post published a clear video of federal agents removing Alex Pretti's handgun moments before he was fatally shot. There's nothing in the video to suggest Pretti even reached for his weapon.

Alex Jeffrey Pretti was an ICU nurse at a VA hospital. His life, through his profession, was dedicated to serving his community and our country.

As so many have now seen on video, his final act before he was killed by federal agents was doing everything in his power to protect his community.

Alex Pretti "used to tell people off when they made sexist comments to female physicians. He bought me coffee when I had a really bad day as an intern...I laughed alongside him daily. He made a point to teach medical residents without judgement, but with a smile on his face and a joke."

Stop saying we shouldn’t impeach Nazis because they’ll be replaced by someone worse. We should never stop fighting to remove these evil monsters. Don’t obey in advance.

Every second the murderer is not arrested is another second for feds to hide him in a place that would create a jurisdictional fight. He's on video killing a person. You have to arrest this guy an hour ago, but you might still have time now.

This is a strategy trial lawyers use all the time to put an opponent in a weaker position even if you lose some. Flooding the zone goes both ways, the Hill is packed with lawyers, and there is no reason to not flood the zone with articles of impeachment.

The Overton window won’t move itself.
