Elevation of Granulocyte Colony Stimulating Factor in Human AMD Donor RPE-Choroid | IOVS | ARVO Journals

Hot off the press. We observed elevated levels of G-CSF in AMD human donor RPE-Choroid tissue and identified c-reactive protein as an AMD associated stressor responsible for increased G-CSF levels. @choroidlab.bsky.social @adnankhan.bsky.social @stemcellseh.bsky.social.

Linkin Park From Zero album cover

Linkin Park From Zero album cover

Just got home from visiting with my good friend and collaborator Jens Kiilgaard in Copenhagen DK, and what should be waiting for me at my local record store…Linkin Park’s #EmilyArmstrong is incredible! Can’t imagine a better lead following the loss of Chester. Plus, pressed on translucent blue wax!

IBV is now one in person and two zoom meetings per year, which I believe is the new push for all sections. IMO, there is little to no waste in the scientific review and program offices, and staff are stretched to their limit. Cuts would seriously harm the review/grants administration process.

an elderly woman is holding a palm tree and says a curse on you ALT: an elderly woman is holding a palm tree and says a curse on you

Growing up in Newfoundland, there were many interesting dialects. For instance, my mom’s entire family would drop and add the letter H resulting in sentences like “did you play hice ockey today?”. I recently told her about X, to which she replied, “whats hex?”. I said, it’s what Elon did to twitter!

Two masks on my plane to Copenhagen, DK……unfortunately, they are both on me, n95 under the beard mask (which I wear because the n95 cuts into my beard and makes me look like Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean).

What concerns me about far-right politics is its meanness and lack of empathy.

This is the same behavior seen in the Holocaust, the Cambodian genocide, Russian genocides, Rwanda, Darfur, American West of Native Peoples, etc...

It's the same selfishness/nationalism/intolerance.

Thanks for doing that Jason! Sorry I will not be there, and for leaving you in the lurch once again. Dang viruses.

KEF LS50, great speakers but a little hard to drive at 2-4ohms and 83dB sensitivity. Makes for a real nice cat seat, their black gloss finish is always full of paw prints!

If we learned nothing else from the pandemic it should have been that going to work while virally ill is bad. You might be able to ‘battle through’ but those you infect might not be so lucky. Sick days are not lazy nor a luxury, they are necessary for public health.

"Addiction to journal brand and Impact Factor has led us to conflate quality, impact, and trust in research. We now have the opportunity to adopt a new approach with better trust signals, in which judgments of an article’s merits are not made at a single point in time"
