To every island, a high commissioner.

Honestly a House of Lords with literally no powers except to do endless inquiries and ask annoying questions would be really funny. That’s generationally good gear.
No-one complaining about the lobbying stuff would like the actual solution: a big fat lifelong pension
That’s good enough for me! All the brewpubs in Marrickville inexplicably don’t open until Thursday
Is it actually award winning? Cos I was at Phive in Parramatta all weekend and that’s gonna be tough to beat.
I’ve got three hours to kill around Marrickville with some luggage before i go to the airport.
As much as I’m happy sitting at Valentina’s drinking their bottomless coffee, I think they’ll get annoyed after the fifth cup
That’s exactly what happens to me. No notice just suddenly it’s gone. I have to assume they have like three slots but everyone get the “you’ve been outbid” email even tho the outbidder is only going to occupy one.
Priority at check-in, security and baggage claim and having somewhere quiet to sit is worth it before even starting on the 2 star hotel quality food.
And if you drink alcohol, it practically pays for itself.
Do you get it every time? No. But if you’re like me and flying the redeye a lot, you’ll get it half the time
Few “tips and tricks” have markedly improved my life than @lucyxiv.boontavista.com’s advice to book the cheapest flight and immediately make the minimum bid in their business class upgrade offer.
I’ve flown business both ways to Sydney for a whopping $430.
Bit too much for my taste. Let’s tone it down a smidge.
I did little chunks on the bus but yeah I walked like 20km today lmao
Today I walked from Campsie to Newtown, had a big lunch, rode a bike from Newtown to the CBD, went to fancy clothes shops were not allowed to have in Brisbane, bought some nice perfume, walked to Circular Quay, caught the ferry to Ryde, then walked to Parramatta.
This is the perfect holiday 2 me.
I would suggest staying away ladders, black cats, things of this nature.
Who gets a say? It’s one of the core questions in any democratic process. In our recent report on Australia’s democratic resilience, we make the case for broadening whose voices count in elections for our lowest level of government. A short thread 🧵 1/
Ah a sign you’ve been cursed. My condolences
For decades, Brisbane’s draw card was we were cheap, unpretentious and willing to take risks.
But now we’re expensive, full of real estate agents and build things that appeal to real estate agents.
I regret to inform you that Sydney is catching up. We cannot allow the Fuckwit Gap to close.
The whole strip looks incredible. Im dangerously close to spending the whole weekend there.
I think my soulmate might be Newtown’s Continental Deli.
I regret to inform you I have become addicted to gilda.
I smell bad from plane! Let me steal your samples!!!
Honestly outrageous Newtown doesn’t have any parfumeries [posts from 1890]
It’s unexpectedly difficult to hire an ebike for a few days outside the inner west tho. Campsie isn’t THAT far.
Sydney’s pretty nice. Could do with a couple million more apartments I reckon.
I think this all pivots on what is a "public person" for the purpose of this kind of media scrutiny. I think current affairs TV has been rightly judged for treating people in jobs or roles that aren't in the public sphere as equally valid targets.
goddamn I'm getting LF flashbacks with this internet deepdive
Blood thinners, caffiene and amphetamine's sure gonna do SOMETHING.
I quite liked their shoes and in a normal economy they could have kept making and selling functionally the same shoes forever.
My last pair finally gave up the ghost last week too. RIP.
oh yeah damn. The Guardian might bite but the people demand a Long Read
