Yeah it's annoying and large. I'll ask around to see when it'll (if ever) be available as a global package we can reference.

2 months ago 1 0 1 0

Can you explain further? You mean using DataViews versus not using it at all? Or just the fact that you still have to import the entire DataViews package and the dependency extractor can't just let you reference some global version of it loaded by WP?

My WP/Woo Plugin Scaffolding in 2026 - Brian Coords I've narrowed my last few plugin builds into my own personal 'extension starter' for my Woo and WordPress development.

I wrote a bit about how I'm using my WordPress/Woo sites as my own vibe-coding platform.

I shared the boilerplate I use for new extensions, and some thoughts on what I'd like to see in WordPress to make this easier.

WordPress 6.9 includes a killer new feature for WooCommerce stores: Term Query Loop.

Showcase your product categories&brands on your landing pages or mega menus.

And thanks to Block Bindings API I spun up a "Product Category Image" block with minimal code:

Nice! I've been testing it on my mobile device and it's decent, I just want to incorporate some better navigation/swipe handling.

I'm adding social share/reblogging next.

I wonder if it could submit comments, at least for WP-hosted blogs you subscribe to 🤔

I built an RSS Reader that sits in your WordPress dashboard. It uses the DataViews for a modern WP look and feel.

It's still in beta but try it out!

I'm working on some more improvements to our extension scaffolds and packages and would love to hear your wishlist/pain points. (I'm mostly fixing stuff around customizing the admin vs the frontend, but I'd be open to hearing anything).

npx @wordpress/create-block -t @woocommerce/create-woo-extension my-woo-extension

Thanks to the help of many smarter devs at Woo, our "create-woo-extension" tool is finally working again.

There's still a bunch of scaffolding work to do, but getting the dependencies updated and the install & build running was a huge milestone here.
