Landing a radio interview, responding to the National Cancer Plan, and shouting about our fantastic families seems like a solid win for my little charity team on #WorldCancerDay. Very much enjoying the new gig!

It was a joy to reflect on this project with Olympics legacy funder Spirit of 2012, as the team came to the end of their operations.

The organisation ended up with some really strong impact case studies and future research directions.

3 key stats on drivers of low wellbeing: 44% of people whose mental health impacts them all the time live in wellbeing poverty. 35% of people with poor general health live in wellbeing poverty. 32% of people who often feel lonely live in wellbeing poverty.

Around 3 million people with the lowest wellbeing in the UK fall into the category of “wellbeing poverty”.

Our UK wellbeing forecast suggests the reinforcing effect of declining general and mental health, combined with loneliness, risks creating a “wellbeing poverty trap”.

🌈The lack of accurate data on LGBTQ+ folks is pervasive

We're often invisible. Historic exclusion, categorisation challenges, and the potential harm of data collection have all played a part, hindering policy, research, and support services.

This report looks to fill in part of that data gap ⬇️
