The stakes could not be higher.
If we fail to act now to address the global fertilizer crisis, we risk creating a humanitarian catastrophe on food security.

Mounting instability & escalating conflicts stifle efforts to advance sustainable dev, address the climate crisis, & create a more prosperous future for all.
I’m joining @munsecconf.bsky.social to discuss these challenges & urgent need for effective, multilateral co-op.

I sat down w/ my friend @melissafleming.un.org for Awake at Night podcast to share what we're doing to tackle mounting global crises through our practical solutions & can-do attitude.
I also paid tribute to the great work of @unops.org teams around 🌎 incl. those who risk their lives to help others.
We are at a defining moment.
In a world marked by growing uncertainty, our collective challenge is clear: we must adapt, stay focused & deliver better for the people we serve.

What I saw during my recent trip to Gaza was shocking. The level of devastation, overwhelming. The needs of people, dire.
As talks turn to Gaza’s reconstruction, we must stay focused on ending suffering & supporting early recovery – now.
The people of #Gaza can't wait any longer.

Timely to see Laura Dupuy Lasserre, Chair of G77 & China + PR of #Uruguay Mission UN.
We’ve had close cooperation between @unops.org & #G77 over the past 20+ years.
We can scale up & do more to support for developing countries in the Global South.
People in #Gaza can't wait for big reconstruction plans. They urgently need help & support now.
That incl. an increase in flow of basic supplies, incl. to help families with winter & restoration of basic services – health, water, sanitation & education for children.

Severe flooding in #Mozambique & other parts of southern Africa are devastating communities.
Countless lives lost, homes destroyed, & critical infrastructure & supply chains severely damaged.
@unops.org teams, together with partners, can support urgent response to help those affected.
Pleasure to see Her Excellency Zeina Toukan, Minister of Planning & International Development #Jordan. Great discussion on infrastructure & climate action. @UNOPS.org will continue this long term partnership, critical to bringing a positive impact to people’s lives and improving access to services.
Pleased to meet Her Excellency Wafa Bani Moustafa, Minister of Social Development of #Jordan to further deepen partnerships with @UNOPS.org. Together, we are helping the most vulnerable including persons with disabilities. This is in line with the National Social Protection Strategy 🇯🇴
Congrats to Amb. Cornel Feruta of Romania on his election as 2026 President of the @undp.org / @unfpa.org / @unops.org Executive Board, with VPs from Finland, Jamaica, Tajikistan, Zambia.
I look forward to working closely to maximise the impact of the work we do for people we serve around the world.
Expressed huge thanks to HRH Prince Rashid, chairman of Jordan 🇯🇴 Hashemite Charity for partnership & coordination.
Then, I visited the @UNOPS-built warehouses full of supplies, where I called for lifting all restrictions on delivery of aid including directly: Jordan to #Gaza
For 2M people in #Gaza, fuel is life.
Thx to generous support from #Qatar, @UNOPS.org continues to distribute fuel to hospitals, clinics, water stations, and bakeries.
Great to see H.E. Yousef Ali Al-Khater @qrcs.org.qa. We look fwd to continued cooperation & expanding our partnership globally.
Starting in Doha a four day trip to #MiddleEast.
I thanked HE Fahad Al-Sulaiti & Qatar Fund for Development for great support of @UNOPS.org.
In #Gaza and soon deepen this partnership to help improve lives of communities around the world, especially in fragile contexts.
The scale of loss caused by cyclones & extreme weather in Indonesia, Sri Lanka & across South East Asia is staggering.
As communities confront the devastation, @UNOPS.org stands ready to support governments with emergency response and recovery efforts.
Multilateralism is built on strong partnerships.
Pleasure to host Ambassador Wang Xuefeng of China today at UN City. We discussed how we can deepen our partnership on sustainable development based on @UNOPS.org mandate on infrastructure, procurement and project management.
Humanitarian workers must never be a target. #NotATarget
"The best way to protect forests is to empower the people that live there."
It's not just about stopping fires. It's about investing in communities that protect our vital ecosystems. That's why the #COP30 Tropical Forests Forever Facility is so important.
I spoke with @ionewells.bsky.social on BBC News.
#COP30 isn't about negotiation, it's about action and accountability.
We're on a path to 2.5°C. The question is do we accept "overshooting" 1.5°C, or do we fix it now?
We must fix it now.
We're past negotiations. #COP30 is about action & accountability. We're not on the 1.5°C path & 'overshooting' isn't inevitable.
We must x3 renewables, x2 energy efficiency, deliver on finance, & end fossil fuel subsidies. We can do it, but we must do it now.
Are we for real or not?
I spoke Tainá Falcão on CNN Brasil ahead of the opening of #COP30. The truth is, our current climate targets don't add up to 1.5°C.
Belém is a defining moment for the integrity of multilateralism. It's time to recommit to the spirit of #ParisAgreement
I will soon head to Belém, Brazil for #COP30. A decade since #ParisAgreement, the challenge is no longer the path, but the pace. Countries must act with urgency, ambition & solidarity to deliver climate goals & drive resilient, inclusive development. @UNOPS.org stands ready to help.
In #Jamaica, I assured PM Andrew Holness of @unops.org's support following #HurricaneMelissa. Such events are a stark reminder: #SIDS pay for emissions they did not create. As #COP30 approaches, we must recommit to the 1.5C goal, increase climate finance & demand higher ambition.
