I’m having a great time. I wish I could meet the characters in this version of Wonderland for the first time again.

I forgot how much of The Walking Dead is watching men argue over stupid nonsense and make the worst decisions, all while pretending anger isn’t an emotion.

I cannot overstate how much I loved this story.

You know that thing where you’re reading and suddenly the story ends because the author hasn’t finished, but the author in question is you and you want to know what happens?

This season of You is a fucking masterpiece.

Horror is an empathy cultivation tool. Good horror lets us walk alongside characters not like us so we see what we share, then turns up the heat to teach us concern for them. When we sigh with relief at their escape from the horrors, we breathe in hope we all get out alive.

I don’t think there was a character I didn’t enjoy, no matter what side they wound up being on. The ending is of the variety where things are wrapped up, but there’s the potential for more (and an incoming sequel) because we’ve barely scratched the surface of this world.

I enjoyed how fluid the magic and supernatural elements in this world are — graspable if you understand certain rules, are willing to make sacrifices, can shift your perspective. Throughout the story are themes of accountability and forgiveness, loyalty and self sacrifice.
