As someone who works in finance I cannot stress enough how fucking clueless rich people are, even when it comes to money.

Workers and consumers are one in the same, but every business is trying to crush the former and exalt the latter

One of the contradictions of capitalism that becomes really obvious when you think about it for more than 5 seconds is that every business wants to make the most money while paying their labor the least. They don't realize that their employee is someone else's customer and vice versa

I like bad slasher movies, but there is no reason they should be longer than like an hour. That's like having a three course fast food dinner

The most advanced piece of technology I want in my car is an auto starter for the winter. That's it

One of the most basic contradictions of conservatism are that despite claiming they want a smaller government with less power, their solution to any societal problem is always criminalization and incarceration.

Never seen an oligarchy that executes corrupt business owners and officials before.

People should not have the absolute freedom to do what they want, especially when it comes to consolidating wealth/power. There should absolutely be limits, otherwise you end up with an oligarchy. "Personal freedom" is the guise used to maintain our unjust systems.

Personally I don't think business owners and landlords should have the freedom to oppress the working class.

Amazon Should Replace Local Libraries to Save Taxpayers Money via @forbes forbes.com/sites/panosmou...

Gwen
Fun fact about getting books from Amazon:
You have to pay money for them.
Anyway, I'm off to pick up my library holds.

But you don't have to pay taxes!

Gwen
Cost to individually buy the six books I have on hold this week: $70
Amount the Altadena Library Special Parcel
Tax cost me this week: 75¢
Someone help me budget this, I'm not chair of an economics department.

>Governments are monopolies by default, which cuts out the competition aspect unless you want
1. Multiple governments operating over a single area
2. To also advocate for open borders

"Government should be run like a business" is a fascist, and also incredibly stupid statement.
Businesses;
>Top-down power structure
>Power is consolidated into very few hands
>Leaders operate in the benefit of and only answer to a small, privileged group of beneficiaries
