You can only do this because of the Deathknell trigger. If it was anything else you don't get an opportunity to flip it

As of the rules update in November, Riot added a gap between combat clean up and ownership of a battlefield clean up.

Tasty controls a battlefield w/ ZHG hidden there. Opponent attacks that battlefield and wins.

With Tasty's Deathknell on the stack, you can reveal ZHG and return it to base, saving the Hourglass.

(To clarify, we're not using the ZHG to save Tasty. We're revealing the ZHG so it doesn't get trashed)
