I also made a better recording, and as I apparently can't just upload an audio file, I went out and shot some visuals to put the music over.
I’ve got two different firmwares for the blep module. The one on the left shifts out CV values, the one on the right has basic drum sounds (though with terrible high frequency noise due to the simple design of the digital to analog converter)
I got one roll of 160 left, and 3 of 400. I'm probably going to use them to just put a roll through a camera I haven't used in a while.
I should make an effort of shooting all the expired stuff I still have this year, because it's not getting better.
Could also be the Portra Tonez, but either way. Not really excited about the colors
A windmill at the end of a street.
Got the decade+ expired roll of Portra developed, and yup. it's cooked. Got light purple discoloration at the edges and a general vibe of colors being off.
No signs of light leaks, so the experiment was successful
I’ve never listened to a full Bowie album so I don’t think it’s that weird

@devononearth.bsky.social I got the development tank you mentioned in the KJB Q&A and it's great! It's a lot easier than the contraption for stuffing 4x5 sheets in a Paterson tank I was using previously. Thanks!

Lego orchids in black and white
Got a new development tank for 4x5 and had to try it out immediately
We also got the Artemis II photo the day it was taken, while they were still flying to the moon. Unlike the Apollo photo, where you would have to wait for a couple of weeks for it to be developed and printed in a magazine.
A screenshot of my first ableton project, cut up audio of my eurorack synth
Suddenly I remembered that I got a very basic version of ableton live with a keyboard/sequencer. I did have some fun with it, but I do have to remind myself that in this case I don't have a decade of experience and it's ok to suck at it.
I could use it to make more track for my Hello Kitty Shinkansen
(Though I would need to make a lot of track to offset the cost of the router bits compared to 3d printing)

Every time I pick up my Fuji GSW690 I think, is it worth it making just 8 photos on a roll of film? And then I see the results.
A wrapper of Kodak New Portra, expired 07/2014
Wanted to test my Fuji GSW690 for a big trip next month. Which was a good reason to fill up a roll of New Portra. (Also a roll of Fomapan 400)
Or at a minimum a way to opt out of the discover feed. Nothing good comes from being featured there.

That might give me an idea what's wrong though, because I've only seen it with decade+ old portra
When I tried it the answer was no.
The friend who had Technetium-99m contrast fluid injected for a medical thing was radioactive though. It was really interesting to see that you shouldn't hug him, but the recommended 1m distance was sufficient to have the levels drop to almost background
Weird, you're also getting the purple fringing with your Fuji
They are also doing one in my city, and yeah. Public transport is fucked because everything is blocked or full. The city center is turned into an event area and is pretty much no-go for an entire weekend. Can't do half the things I wanted to do.

There is a difference between static strength and fatigue strength. You can happily (over)load something to the max a couple of times. But if you do bounce like this too much you'll slowly crack all the welds.
It is technically possible, but you won't be able to claim warranty
Early in my career a senior engineer told me the guideline that you should never give enough capacity to a hydraulic drive system to break the steel structure. So you either have to limit the size of cylinders, or make sure the rest can handle the force.
Because customers will do this stuff to it
