We’re also planning to developing public examples for modeling CfDs, PPAs, penalties, subsidies, and more to **accelerate** adoption!
Let me know if you have any other wishes for OS energy planning tools 🛠️
Why it works:
🔺The user could customize the model to match every PPA detail
🔺Spreadsheet integration lets analysts quickly adjust inputs before optimising
🔺Open source is AI-ready - no unnecessary layer between the tool and your LLM
🚀 Open-source tools are becoming a powerful advantage for energy project developers.
An Indian 🇮🇳 developer recently used #PyPSA to design 24/7 carbon-free energy (CFE) power purchase agreements (PPAs) for renewable and storage projects and is super happy!
PyPSA v1.0 is officially here - 10 years and 2 days since the first git commit. This milestone release brings major new features, completely new documentation, and a fresh landing page - congratulations to all the PyPSA team! 🎉

The demand data is actually feeding the ML demand cast app: github.com/open-energy-... so people can get open electricity demand predictions for any part around, for any region, climatic year.
In general the more data, the better 🙌🏼 so please get in touch with our team to add this eventually.

Very cool @openstreetmap.bsky.social project to map the remaining 30% of the world's high-voltage transmission system from Open Energy Transition. And also... the next 100% of the grid as it builds out in coming decades! #EnergySky #OpenData

We're so proud of Dr. Ricks! Our first ZERO Lab doctorate. And an outstanding set of research on the potential of enhanced geothermal energy and rules to guide clean electricity procurement by hydrogen producers, data centers are more. Yes, the GUI is one element that should be addressed but there are many other moving puzzle pieces that should be in place for seriously challenging existing solutions. Discussed a plan with @jessedjenkins.com few months ago
We are already active part of the SRG and will update the crowd at the earliest convenience 🙂👍🏽
Yep, that’s correct. We will probably tackle scenario building and the CBA process of the TYNDP. Can eventually tell more details in January.
I like the no risk strategy of doing both for the TYNDP like doing, PLEXOS and open source tools until there is 100% confidence in #opensource.
