No worries! Personally, I just blocked the account. I seriously do not see it as something to be taken seriously. Just someone looking for attention.

I saw several (self labeled) medical professionals challenging the misinformation label and either getting no response or a response claiming follow farming (again, as if that's even remotely related to misinformation). Another claimed they were added for posting memes.

Looking through this account and it looks like they are just a person hungry for any sort of attention or notoriety. And they try and cover themselves by combining multiple scapegoats. Like, they call it a misinformation list but also include spamming and follow farming as if that's the same thing.

I really want to get back into things like social media, keeping in touch with those important to me, meeting new people, posting blogs, outings. But man. I just can't seem to clear various hurdles like motivation, anxiety, disinterest. I feel so out of touch with everything, including my own self.

I've also just grown so tired of Social Media so I almost never post anything. Most days I don't even open up these stupid apps.

I absolutely don't believe in violence at all, political included. But no, I don't typically speak out on it; why would I? Who the Eff am I? Nobody, that's who. I'm just a non-important person with absolutely no say in anything that goes on anywhere. Kitties and Star Trek, that's my world.

I don't suppose anyone knows of a 3rd party text to speech that doesn't rely on AI, is offline and not using everything you feed it to train AI, and is not only mostly accurate, but also at least consistent with how it pronounces words that only have one pronunciation?

These tech companies really need to take a step back and ease up on their AI fetish. I swear to God AI is making everything worse right now.

I got my new laptop, got it mostly set up. Currently doing a proofread of my ex's latest novel using MS Windows text to speech which was extremely useful a few years ago, but damn... It's cool complete crap now! It can't even pronounce simple words like I or Me or My half the time!

I hate how many previously useful apps/tools are now garbage because they are so heavily infused with generative AI. Photo editors for example; they used to help with enhancing a photo. Now they try and completely change the photo, including things like positioning, with horrifying results.

So I got Popeye's today because I had a coupon. They stuck a sheet of coupons in the bag. Those coupons expired last month..... 🤨

I'm finally replacing the laptop that died about a year or so ago. Hopefully that will help me get back to a sense of normality. It's weird how much a good laptop was/is part of who I am. I've missed having one.

Oh, and regarding the post on Threads; I mentioned the views and likes and stuff because that has never happened before. I have posted many pictures of my precious, and he is always adorable, but those posts have never gotten more than a handful of likes. So I seriously smell nasty bots.

I don't know, maybe I'm just done with Social Media. I don't enjoy shouting to the void, but I also don't want to chat with bots. The Internet was an interesting experiment, but I think it's ultimately a failed experiment.

A lot of people praise BlueSky for not having a feed algorithm, and I get it, but I kind of liked the one Threads had. I always hated Twitters algorithm, but the one on Threads wasn't bad IMO. But Meta itself just sucks.

In fact, I posted on Threads that I'd probably be going dark for an unknown period of time and included the same pics of my cat that I posted here and that post got a ton of views and likes and responses, but it all seemed artificial. A lot of the replies were very bot-like.

I'm still not sure how I feel about BlueSky. It's fine, I guess, but it's also just so basic.

I'm kind of done with all of Meta; between their policy changes and their focus in AI Bots (which I think are already out in full force), Meta just sucks. Sad too because I honestly enjoyed Threads.
