Never did watch that but I'm guessing that only covers Quality Build (Str/Dex) while an Elden Ring adaptation leaves open the possibility for an Dex/Arcane protagonist. I really hope the movie sounds a lot of time talking about this exact topic
"Unclear story" is probably the key element, and the one that Garland could most easily achieve while commanding a mainstream blockbuster budget, and yet I suspect it won't even make it over that hurdle.
I'm assuming what will actually happen is they'll dress some actress up like Ranni the Witch to deliver a long monologue about the history of The Lands Between with dramatic reenactments of key events inset. Something the videogame never did because it would be boring.
Still trying to work out what a "good" Elden Ring movie would even look like. The main characteristic of FromSoft games is a prolonged, dour loneliness that seeps into your head while you navigate forelorn facsimiles of civilization. Maybe Garland's movie will be 15 hours long?
At the British pub and they have Umbrellas of Cherbourg on the TV behind the bar with motion smoothing and torch brightness. Looks great!
Story of Ricky remains incredibly relatable cinema. Many times in my life, during times of great adversity and struggle, I have thought to myself, "I am Ricky." Usually I then channel my qi to punch a huge hole in the nearest wall and leave.
Considering torrential rain, tornado watch, and the late hour there's a pretty good crowd here for Story of Ricky.

Just back from Grelley Duvall Best Actress, a theater tribute to cinema's leading ladies that ends with a dance number including a puppet of the ghost from Poltergeist. Difficult to describe but huge fun. Now I'm wired enough to brave the rain & catch Story of Ricky at midnight.

Saw someone on here joke about Sunn O)))'s male/female crowd ratio. Fair enough but I'm telling you, compared to Swans this was like a Women's March.
Probably the lowest "notes per minute" rate of any live performance I've ever seen. Really fun though, it truy hypnotizes. Super chill crowd too. There were lots of people but the venue wasn't packed. People could move about easily. Some just sat down and vibed. Pretty great.

Then I watched 2/3s of British comedy Fackham Hall, which I guess is sort've a Downton Abbey spoof. It's commendably silly but every joke is stretched an extra beat to make sure the audience can't possibly miss it. Not good but totally harmless. Which isn't ideal in comedy.
