Gorgeous morning for a #sota activation with M0VFC and @m1geo.com on the summit of Cornden Hill (GW/MW-013) in the Welsh Borders

At 6pm tonight (Christmas Eve) and repeated at 5pm tomorrow, Cambridge Radio has the annual Rotary schools' carol concert, which I recorded and produced.
Online at cambridge.radio, on smart speaker, the Radioplayer app and 105FM/DAB in Cambridge.

I'm really struggling to answer the question as it is. Plenty have taken over as PM and then gone to an election, but for both becoming and stopping because of a general election, I'm genuinely not sure.

I'm involved with Raynet in Cambridgeshire. Personally, I believe it isn't particularly relevant for emergencies. But there is value in supporting local events (the primary reason I'm involved) and also considering preparedness for things like larger power cuts. Others in the group would disagree.

Unexpected climate change consequence: French TV news reports that 50 years ago, births of French babies peaked in early June. Now, it's end July.
Suspected cause: September nights are now too warm for action under the covers, so conceptions are happening later in autumn!

Why could I possibly want to redesign an Ali Express DCDC 3 times? I'll be talking at the RSGB Convention on the importance of switch mode power supply PCB layout in a month's time. Would be great to see you if you're around.

Sonic boom heard after RAF scrambled to incident A loud explosive sound is reported in parts of Essex, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Kent and London.

And here in Cambridge. Guess this was it:

Not as bad as that but yes. I guess the gluing machine was slightly misaligned for this month's batch.

I was unaware of this. Thank you! Looks very useful.

Lovely weekend away in my caravan in the Peak District activating a few SOTA summits

It's getting quite popular in the SOTA community too because the trackers are so lightweight. The Lake District and Snowdonia both have digipeaters on hilltops.

In Snowdonia for a long weekend, where I've been doing a few SOTA activations. I seem to have been generally lucky with the weather.

I seem to remember sending a stamped addressed envelope to the Broom Cupboard to get a copy of those lyrics!

Not too bad here at G3PYE/P but more wind than expected.

I really like this idea. Another really bad example I've seen recently was 'I asked ChatGPT which stocks to pick'. Clearly fails the 'I asked my mate Dave' test.

Thanks for the recommendation. Looks interesting but I have 6m Trophy contest in my sights this afternoon!

Spent the bank holiday weekend with @m1geo.com , @m0wut.bsky.social and M0VFC walking in the Lake District. A bit wet for the last couple of days but a lovely camping trip in my caravan.

Oh yes, it's a bag to keep rain and muck off the tow bar while it's not in use!

Assuming you mean the white bar across the top it's some plastic for aerodynamics protecting the solar panel behind it.

First Bluesky post and also my first time out in my (new to me) caravan. Stayed fairly local as this trip is just to test everything works. So far, so good.
