I think he is trying to appeal to moderates.. You have to try and meet in the middle and take those voters from the GOP. No candidate is gonna be perfect and fit all your needs. But in this climate, the Dems need somebody who can go into their Den and fight them. Just my opinion.
I'm not in California, so I don't know all of Gavins' highlights or lowlights. But what I do know is that he can debate and has a presence to him that is needed. If Dems want to win in 2028, they need somebody with toughness who can go at MAGAs neck. Newsom is on that shortlist for me.
