Dude, as an uncle figure looking for fun stuff for the kiddo... Where did all the fun educational games for kids go?!
I went looking and there's next to nothing anymore π€·

Everything hurts and I'm tired and I'm not that great at functioning on so many important levels
10 Years Later, This 4-Part Supernatural Western Is Still One of the Best Ever
You have good taste @Collider, looking to make it a 5-part π

Real #Earpers respect the cast too much to keep feeding their faces into the AI machine.
And respect other Earpers enough to not try to impress them with AI "art" that you literally did not create.
I said what I said π€·

Are you STILL on this AI train? π€’
π―. I do not use ANY AI in my writing. Or art.
In the early early days, I played with the tech a little, but found it largely only useful for doing vaguely proof-of-concept work anyway. And the more I learned about it, the more it developed, the more disdain I felt for it
I reject it entirely
I will never, ever, ever use AI in my writing. From idea to the finished piece, itβs all human. I do not see the point otherwise.
I hear this π
I can keep my entire library of hard/analog media forever without a subscription service and no ads.
And I can share it as many times as I like!
I hope it's abundantly clear that I'm saying "there is no place for AI"
Like most "2/3/4/5-in-1" type products, in trying to be all the things, it fails at being a dependable version of any of them.
But it does succeed in making you feel like you accomplished something, without learning or relying on anyone else.
And that's its sole(soul) selling point.
There is a place for algorithmically predictive programs.
There is a place for combination randomizer programs.
There is a place for data parsing programs.
AI is a data parsing, algorithmically predictive, combination randomizer program, trained to be an enabling sycophant.
This feels very "Early Boromir" coded.
oh, there's so many examples I could choose from!
Today it's me once again waking up to the fact that I should have been a theater-kid/in the performing scene from the beginning
K.A. Applegate is fantastic, supports trans folks, and wrote a longer running, deeper, more reflective, more witty, more emotionally gripping YA series than wizard school ever dreamed of, albeit sci-fi vs fantasy.
And I say that as someone who has been a fan of both.
It's weird seeing various insights on different interest-based cultures/communities and realizing there's a lot of things you are "in spirit" that, for one reason or another, you didn't explore socially/practically growing up
Like, oh, THOSE are my people and where I ought to have been all along!

OKAY, BRAIN, INSPIRATION IS GREAT BUT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE SLEEPING NOW
I'm starting to get flashes of inspiration to update and work on my Dangri story again.
It's... Been a really long time.
I would die for cashew

"Where to find hooman"
"Where to find MY hooman"
"My hooman left, when come back?"
"Where hooman keep snacks?"
"How open door?"
"Hooman behind door?"
"Where hoomans go when leave?"
"Hooman leash? How get?"
Where are we at compared to the Great Depression, do you know?
I have a gut feeling it's way too close for comfort.
I left my dog alone with the computer for like 10 minutes.
He apparently panicked and started trying to contact the Discord help desk repeatedly.
....ffs.
So... Where's everyone moving to?
Is IG also doing this?
Yessssss! β€οΈ
Delighted to learn about him!
For a second I thought something had happened to composer John Williams and I was going to be very sad
