Even if it was true, a 44% approval rate among everyone white with a 4yr degree is nothing to be proud of.

I agree that both of these can happen in parallel and I agree with all the other points you're making about what's wrong and difficult for people. I just find it weird how basically all the numbers go up in this survey (like 6% more than last time think they're better off than their parents)

This survey is weird! How can 61% have money left over to save, but 48% have no money left over after paying bills. And both numbers went up since the last survey.

Block was a really great place to work for the past four months. Unfortunately, I’m part of today’s 40% layoff.

If you need an old hand at web stuff, who has staff software engineering experience at multiple international corporations, hit me up. ❤️

Hi friends I just got laid off along with 40% of Block. No idea what comes next, but if you have need for a Principal Frontend Engineer hit me up!

I saw multiple people being layed off that were hired in January and February THIS year. Was this not even possible to see three weeks ago?

There's so many problems with the article. Hallucination, scams and security issues are non-existent. At the same time models are so efficient that they run on device and are basically free for consumers and Nvidia etc keep booming. It basically is all the things it tells in the foreword it is not.

Yep. For me the s&p 500 just ended up slightly above 0 in Euro if I remember correctly.

It gets more interesting if you look at the charts in another major currency than USD (both these indexes are fixed on USD values). Try EUR, CHF or GBP for example

And since it's even cheaper not to fix them that seems like a viable alternative.

I agree. It's already happening in reality - going part time without the support of the employer, while legally allowed, is probably hardly ever a good idea. And the amount of lifestyle part timers doing that is probably really small.

Adding one more thing: like in many other cases where Merz gets mad about something, I don't think the case he's solving for ("lifestyle" part time without justification and without employer support) is actually something that is used very often and it distracts from the real problems.

on the employer to provide a detailed justification for rejecting part-time, which gets harder the larger the company is. The employee, if employed more than 6 months, doesn't have to provide any justification.

In cases both employer and employee agree, there shouldn't be an issue whatsoever (2/2)

I am a big fan of part time work and I think Merz rhetoric is dangerous. (Not only here but in many other cases. He often rules through sowing hate rather than understanding)

However, I could understand if legislation would narrow the right to part time work. Right now there is all burden (1/2)
