Looking at the chart of someone I know with the moon right on her SN in Capricorn, and she’s sickly all the time largely because she dumps all her stress emotions straight into her body, how literal can you get

Yeah, it’s not an eclipse on its own but it’s half the conditions for an eclipse, so that makes sense

Chris Taylor wins Wisconsin Supreme Court race, growing liberal majority The Wisconsin Supreme Court’s liberal majority will grow after state Appeals Judge Chris Taylor was elected to a 10-year term Tuesday.

A fragment of good news on this wack ass news day, especially if you know that WI’s rural counties have skewed pretty red.

I saw a lovely flock of crows, but the unusual and sad one was a deceased American woodcock on the sidewalk outside the art museum

So it’s clearly a magic artifact, but never explained, and it seems like maybe the runes are part of the design to make it look more arcane

Finn from Adventure Time pouring several drinks from a large green mug inscribed with runes

In several episodes, Finn has this large mug with a rune inscription on it. Most of the time he just drinks milk or whatever from it, but in one episode he pours about five different types of drink out without emptying or refilling it.

My favorite fun thing to remember about heredity is that your kids can inherit every difficult trait your parents and your in-laws had

This makes me think of how I grew up hearing racist jokes about Polish and Norwegian immigrants, again policing language, accent, family size (Polish people in my area were typically Catholic). Anything to rub all the colorfulness off your culture so you could be more white.

Preach!! I always like to use “good at” instead of “good for” which is subtle but reminds me to think of the plant as someone who acts and has skills. One plant might be good at giving you a pep talk when you’re anxious and one might be good at tucking you in. Which friend do you need?

Phew, yes, right now knowing things are going to be ok means knowing they are not ok as they are, and haven’t been ok for longer and in more ways than we know. Buckle up, buttercup, because things are going to be ok.

Sometimes we in the US envy Europeans their ancient buildings and ruins, but the ancestors who lived on our land left us some clues, too, of how our lakes and hills and woods held them

I took this photo on the Teign Estuary in Devon in spring 2022. I thought I was just taking a photo of an attractive hole in an old tree. It was only when I got home and looked through my camera roll that I saw the leaping dog, who I'd caught perfectly framed, mid-leap, totally by chance. I remembered the dog immediately, because of what an annoying twat it had been.

I’m super into affirming neurodiversity AND when my kid got ADHD treatment, they were so happy to be able to engage in just hobbies again. They started drawing, playing video games, making music, just doing stuff they enjoyed but couldn’t focus enough to do without treatment.

Not to mention it might not be that one thing at all, but just being tired or having had a dozen little stresses throughout the day. Who among hasn’t cried over some tiny thing because it was the last straw?

I’ve been looking for some purely positive work that can be done in this time, while we actively push back against this massive, constructed chaos. It’s something responsive to what I believe is a deeper issue beneath much of that chaos: 1/3 www.patreon.com/posts/after-...
