A stone holy water fountain found at the rear of St Gobnait's Church (or Kilgobnet Church), Dungarvan, Co.Waterford. It is a Romanesque Church with a cemetery & holy well named after the patroness of the bees
On Easter morning in old Ireland, it was customary for the father of a household to light a candle & bless the four corners of the house, hearth & threshold with holy water
It was said to safeguard the family, home & harvest aheadπΏ

Starting the new year with a new project #threegoodthings
The charity I worked with closed down, giving clients a week to find somewhere else to go so ex staff and a carer set up a CIC, and now we provide a weekly drop-in for over 25 people with mental health problems and learning difficulties. We volunteer our time and it's the best day of the week!
On special days throughout the year, I record all the plants flowering in our meadow. Mindfully, I gather a single flower from every plant that can spare a bloom. This wild flower array is from one those special days, gathered in late September - 62 species π #WildflowerHour #Wildflowers #Meadow
It's the wrong time of year for cacti cuttings and re potting but I'm keeping my fingers crossed these survive. I talk to them daily, maybe that will help!

Watching a Starling Roost - put it on your winter bucket list.
Even if the Starlings don't actually murmur, an evening out watching the birds coming in to roost is an awe inspiring experience.

A close up of a dying flower. The centre of a once bright flower is dark brown. The orange petals have fallen away leaving a few brown curled remnants. In the background a tangle of foliage.
