A group of Ecuadorian fishermen survived a US drone strike, were detained at gunpoint, hooded, phones wiped, ship blown up, disappeared to El Salvador, then released without charge.
“They knew we were fishermen. Even the Salvadorian authorities said things had been handled very badly.”

Okay but literal actual news the onion is apparently at least trying to buy infowars??
I bought a portable music player (HiBy R3 II) a couple months ago.
Physical buttons, a headphone jack, good audio quality, local storage.
I bought albums on Bandcamp, and downloaded the files.
This is awesome. I missed this.
You absolutely SHOULD NOT go around telling people that data centers are full of gold, silver, palladium, copper, and that the data centers are almost entirely unstaffed.
ok so everyone knows the president is a child rapist and is just letting things continue
could really use a 2010 right about now
Texas' only licensed Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu legal interpreter is now languishing in a Raymondville detention center. She’s lived in America for 35 years: www.texasobserver.org/immigration-...
The “Calvin’s dad explains two types” meme, inspired by a Calvin and Hobbes cartoon. Clockwise from top left: 1) Calvin’s dad walks into frame to find Calvin trying to operate a record player. The dad says: “There are only two industries left in America: gambling, and fraud.” 2) The dad shows where the record goes, and how to turn on the player, while Calvin watches. Dad says “Derivatives? Gambling. AI? Fraud. Video games? Gambling. Social media? Fraud.” Calvin says “yeah”. 3) With one hand open palm up, Calvin’s dad cheerfully explains to Calvin out of frame below him, “The stock market looks like gambling, but it’s actually fraud.” 4) In bed in a dark room, Calvin clutches at his pillow, eyes wide in existential terror. There is no text in the panel.
Ruben Ray Martinez is considered the first person to be killed by ICE during President Trump's second term. His mother believes his death could have been avoided. n.pr/3OJkgs5
Google says it will notify a user before responding to subpoena (unless the law requires them not to). They broke that promise when ICE started targeting this activist for his pro-Palestine advocacy.
Another example of ICE using an administrative (not judicial) subpoena and Google responding.
Woah whaaaat i did not know this was a thing that could happen??

not only are wire services the core of an enormous amount of reporting, AP plays a very specific and authoritative role in election calling
For a start you need to get informed abt Prairieland. People making noise outside an ICE detention center hit with "ant!fa" terrorism charges. This is intended to have a cooling effect. If you can't care about this I don't expect you got what it takes to really resist

A painting of a Mexican American couple, a woman and a man in their 30s to 50s, in front of a red Chevy. The woman holds a bucket with cleaning supplies hanging off of it, and the man holds a garden hoe in the same way the pitchfork is held in the original 1930 painting American Gothic. They hold themselves with a sense of dignity.
If you've seen this piece before, "The New American Gothic" by Criselda Vasquez,
Then heartbreakingly, I have to inform you that—according to Vasquez's Instagram as of 4/03/26—Vasquez's father has been taken by ICE.

It’s not just Ms. Rachel.
The biggest names in children’s educational programming are coming out in force to call for kids to be freed from ICE detention.

“AI’s gonna cause the extinction of humanity” I mean yeah, in an age where we’re already dealing with the results of climate change and know it’s only getting worse, idk how this isn’t just teaching AI a huge level of entitlement to natural resources that actual life needs for actual survival
If i knew anything about coding at all id do it but i dont, i just miss surfing the World Wide Web 😔

a great new habit i have is that at the end of my workday, i sit down and i say “how’s the war going?” and then i open up eight or ten browser tabs to find out what blew up today and how many people were displaced and the price of oil and what the president has been posting and then i feel quite ill
The amount of money Minnesotans need before rent comes due at the end of the week is entirely overwhelming.
February is too short. Our political leaders are not doing enough. ICE is still here. This is a crisis.
This is a good way to think of it and i could use a raise rn!!
DO YOUR STRETCHES AND THANK ME LATER

This Saturday, millions of people around the US will gather for the No Kings demonstrations. It's a good opportunity to propose more concrete forms of resistance.
One thing you could do is set up a table distributing zines and other literature. You can find some here:

You know how in a library no one’s trying to sell you anything?
That’s how the internet was.
