IT is really important because without it Isaac Newton would just have discovered gravy.

Just about a week to go before the novel The Island is published! "The most beautiful nightmare you'll ever read," says Toby Litt. I think he means that's a good thing! Can be ordered now...The Island by Richard Price | Waterstones www.waterstones.com/book/the-isl...

Did you know that the UK were about to use biological warfare in the WW2 but changed mind at last minute? My novel The Island was inspired by that story -- a father and a daughter on a strange road trip where there's 'something in the air'. Order here: www.waterstones.com/book/the-isl...

I've been working for Project Abeona, writing for plausible space futures. Here's one of my alter egos, Karim Glinchy Shanti, transmitting from a thousand years beyond as they work on a Relay Wharf. #sci-fi #prosepoems #poetry #spaceexploration

Josephine of course. Sorry. Though under the open-thinking rules of the manifesto maybe Josephone is a cool new nom de son for a sound poetry project!
I've been reading a stimulating near-manifesto, "Rules for Poetry" by H. Josephone Giles. It's a bit sweary but we're grownups here, right, and I find so much I either agree with, or didn't know I agreed with until I saw it written. Sign-up not necessary. hjosephinegiles.substack.com/p/rules-for-...
And my first transcendental music experience was seeing Ali Farka Toure play there -- long blue and white robe, divine blues.
I don't have a pic of my performances at the CCA but this one captures my sense of sorrow that it has folded. I feel Glasgow has been so neglected for decades and this is another major blow. My first public appearance was there in 1987, giving a Mayfest poetry reading before I even had a publisher.
Today is first day of term for my ten-session Poetry School workshop - I like the mix of veterans who've been with the group for some time and the new poets who stretch and surprise us. Quite often, though we can't know beforehand, the poems we look at overlap, a mini anthology emerges for the day.
Hi Julia!
Hi Kate!
Thank you!
Thanks Peter! I'm gradually publishing extracts in @pnreview.bsky.social
Thank you!
Hello, my first post! I'm the writer Richard Price, with poetry collections which include Lucky Day and Late Gifts, and the novella The Island, which will be reissued this year in April. I'm also writing a memoir of the British Library where I worked as a curator of contemporary British books.
