So they ran an experiment.
Yes, a few. See Ameri et al. (2018) on Asperger Syndrom, Baert et al. (2016) on depression and Bjornshagen (2021) on mental health issues. All papers find a large penalty. See also the meta analysis on hiring discrimination by Lippens et al. (2023) that products this interesting comparison graph
