Guy third from right has the smallest head I've ever seen (I know that's not the point but it seemed worth pointing out)

At this point the only reason to call it the Labour Party is it lasts too long, hurts like hell, and people keep popping in and out to check on your genitals.

At 70, I'm trapped in my £850,000 family house - I can't sell it Maureen Evans, 70, wants to downsize and give some money to her children

How much did you pay for it, Maureen? HOW MUCH?

There is no violin small enough.

So anyone mentioned Liz paying off Virginia Giuffre in her 100th birthday puff pieces?

It will never not be funny that the people put in place by Mandelson-McSweeney faction to replace the left wingers they kicked out and blocked have turned the party into a laughing stock.

Serious question: does investment create growth? The pursuit of infinite growth on a planet with finite resources is irresponsible and will doom us to living on a dusty rock in the not too distant future.

So if everyone invested and got good returns we'd all get rich? Ok, cool story bro.

It's amazing how these people who make their entire identity about the EU are fine with Starmer doing nothing about it now and playing Farage at his own game in most other ways.

British liberals 2015 to 2020: "I don't care how bad the tories are, if Corbyn isn't perfect no one should vote for him."

British liberals 2020 to present: "I don't care how imperfect Starmer is, the Tories are worse so everyone must support him."

I'm not saying there aren't decent people who get involved in investing: I'm saying that the practice of it is a key component of economic practices that are doomed to keep us in a cycle of recessions while the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

How is investing in artisans, small local businesses etc going to set you up with a nest-egg for the future? I'm absolutely not saying don't do that: I'm saying that it doesn't fit your argument.

Or in this case, get a colleague to ask a pointless question in an attempt to reframe something he has lied about as something he made the right decision on.

So politicians are not meant to criticise other politicians when they lie? You might want to check that you don't have a brain worm.

I have a pension but I'd have that if investment wasn't part of it: if it was just me and my employer putting money aside. The investment part is nothing to do with me. I think it's all weird and is a key part of the problems inherent in capitalism.

Being ethical doesn't make you immune to losses or collapse.

By "bailed out" do you mean that the "societal benefits of investment" will give me money? I'll look forward to that.

Until those companies collapse because neoliberalism is shite and everyone loses their money.

You mean the senators other than Mon Mothma and Bail Organa? It does make you wonder why they joined in the first place.

People who think we can't afford to do x or y clearly have a scarcity mindset. But how can there be scarcity when there are billionnaires? That is why taxing the rich is always the answer.

'Business Insider' putting out articles where people have apparently chosen to live in a one bed apartment with two kids and talk about how good it is.

Fuck off.

I scraped a 2:2 in Graphic Design because I had undiagnosed AuDHD and couldn't do any work at Uni: I did it all at home at night after everyone else was in bed. If I'd had to do sit-down exams I'd have quit in year one.

Pay someone to do all the fixing/decorating jobs I a) can't motivate myself to do and b) would do a bad job of anyway.

Oh, yeah I got that. Was more commenting that we haven't had a housesitter but might consider one for cat sitting purposes. We're a long way from you (assuming you're in Wales) so wouldn't expect you to come and go every day! Maybe I'll drop you a message via your website (I don't have DMs here).

Interesting...we don't normally worry about the house too much but we get a cat sitter to come for an hour a day when we're away.

I'll never forget the leadership debate where they were asked questions that were essentially about policies from Corbyn's leadership. RBL put her hand up straight away each time; then Keir Starmer and Nandy was *clearly* waiting for Starmer to put his hand up and then did the same.

When we moved back here in 2012, the effects of two years' brutal austerity policies were clear: the increase in visible rough sleeping was stark. I've just walked a route I used to do daily for the first time this year and it feels like 2012 again. Don't let anyone tell you austerity is over.
