Totally agree! So sorry, Karen, I completely forgot to congratulate you on your brilliant book when I saw you on Saturday! I am really enjoying reading it, and know it is going to be super-helpful to me and lots more family historians.

Great to see you, Andrew. I really enjoyed the day - nice to be able to say 'hi' in person to lots of lovely family historians.
Now to look through my bag of 'goodies'!
That sounds like a good idea!
It wouldn't be as much fun if it was easy ๐ I sometimes wonder if they're having a good laugh, whilst I'm trying to untangle the spaghetti they left behind!
Very inconsiderate! ๐
Sounds like a win to me!
That takes me back! I loved my Spirograph!
Hope you have a fabulous day!
Plus quite a bit of time spent in public record offices or searching online records! Great stories - just finished The Orange Lilies.
Reading and digesting Lesson Four of the most excellent @pharostutors.bsky.social @juderhodes.bsky.social 'Researching Your Yorkshire Ancestors'. My head is spinning somewhat with all the new stuff I have learned in the last few weeks - but all very interesting and useful. Lots to keep me busy!
All part of the fun!
Wow! That takes a bit of untangling!
Why such a popular choice, I wonder? And why weren't they considering future family historians when they chose the name?!! ๐
Stunning pictures. I worked as an au pair in Norway, but that was over 40 years ago ๐ฌ I'd love to go back there.
I've always fancied cruising the Norwegian fjords, so I will be following the next episodes with interest. Sounds good so far! ๐
Fantastic! Congratulations Jane ๐
Townend?
Jonas son of Elias and Hannah...something?!
Yes, my dad passed away a few years ago and my husband's parents are no longer around. They never wanted to talk to me about family history, and said they didn't have any photos etc, but we found boxes full when we cleared out their house.
Brilliant!
A few of the photos from my family have names on after I nagged my dad to go through them. But I have lots more with nothing on at all. It's a bit of a guessing game!
Array of old black and white photos
I can sympathise! Just some of the photos that have come my way...
Thank you ๐
It's lovely isn't it? This one was previously in Bristol library. It still has the sheet at the front with the date stamps from 1972! Takes me back to my childhood when we were allowed to stamp our own library books!

A little birthday present to myself! Well, I am researching my East Yorkshire ancestors #FamilyHistory ๐
Ok. I thought I saw something on fb. I'm still planning on going though ๐
Am I right in thinking that the East Yorkshire Family History Society are attending the @federationfhs.bsky.social #familyhistory show in April at St Ives, Cambs.?
That was helpful - maybe he was a family historian in his spare time!
Oooh yes, can't wait!
Nice to meet you, Tony!
