Unchecked power has no place in climate adaptation. Granting immunity to @gcadaptation.bsky.social in Kenya, combined with conflicts of interest in Verkooijen's dual role as GCA CEO and University of Nairobi Chancellor does a disservice to global adaptation action.

Nederland draait geldkraan dicht van prestigieus maar omstreden klimaatcentrum Acht jaar geleden haalde Nederland het centrum nog met veel bombarie hierheen. Nu de Nederlandse financiering wegvalt, dreigt de directeur met een vertrek.

Een echte internationale organisatie zou niet zelf kunnen besluiten om te verhuizen. Een echte IO zou zulke dreigementen niet mogen uiten.
