Why would I use AI to research and write, because it is in the process of doing this that I become myself, my whole self.

Not worse not better, and you too

That moment when you realise that you have to cut down 50000 words in your book draft but also add another section because the story would not make sense without it

"The idea that there is some sort of ‘feminine’ way of thinking and working has hindered efforts to tackle gender inequalities. It pigeonholes women, putting them into new boxes rather than disrupting the ones in which they have long been held captive."

Patriarchy Inc. explores the barriers women have long run into, why previous approaches to gender equity have stalled or failed, and what to do now.

(sometimes I just make mistakes in my posts to show it is written by a human and errors are part of being human)

Called home while away for work and our recently turned 9 year olds girls were having a lengthy chat about periods with their dad. Just keeping it normalised.

I think authors and academics should have a note in their papers and books if they have used AI to read, research, summarise or write.

Would anyone think about the well-being of next generation besides just greedily filling up their own pockets

With all due respect this is a really useful message for everyone. ‘Ally’ is not an americanism. And two, almost anyone can post a glib message but few have the courage to act on it in real life. True allyship is about action. Expecting people to be grateful for you allyship is not being an ally

In my view:
Women often write around caring work & pushed out of jobs due to motherhood penalty
More women work in publishing as paid less than male-dominated stem & tech
Women (might) publish more but men get higher advance & recognition (in N/F at least)
I think white male writers are doing ok

The 8 year old becoming aware of the patriarchy everyday.

Comes into my office very frustrated & frankly outraged: ‘Why is the lion the king of the jungle? It does not live in the jungle and most important the girls do EVERYTHING! It should be the queen of the savannah, Mummy! ‘

In writing essays students learn to process information, tell a story, formulate an opinion, communicate their ideas- all very imp life skills, not just for academic writing. Writing essays is learning how to think. This is what I teach my students. AI cannot do this for them. This is such bullshit

This has nothing to do with gender equality.

but yes along with class, race, gender, age also plays a role

I don’t think explicitly. But perhaps there is a bias inherent in it if it is determined by popularity/social media numbers etc
