This might be the shortest most thought provoking post I have seen on social media. My dissertation focused on socio-technical aspects tech implementation and boy does this resonate. Also thinking about some “problems” on my workplace…

"Medicaid is the largest payer of opioid use disorder treatment, and in 2023 it covered nearly half of all non-elderly adults in the U.S. with opioid use disorder in 2023" #Medicaid #OUD #healthpolicy
It's almost like "illegal immigration" wasn't the problem at all...He's trying to turn back the demographic changes made possible by the Immigration Act of 1965 which over time resulted in more *legal* immigrants from non-European countries.
Trump’s latest comments on Iran make clear he’s still trying to bullshit his way through it
Patreon post header image for 'Do You Believe Me Now? (Medicaid DataSet Update)' by Matthew Cortland, dated 02/18/2026. The left side shows the post title and byline against a dark teal gradient background. The right side displays a screenshot of the Paragon Health Institute website showing Brian Blase, Ph.D., listed as President, with a partial bio noting his role as Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy at the White House's NEC from 2017-2019. The bottom of the image shows a faded line graph and the Patreon branding: 'Shouldn't Need to Be a Lawyer' with the URL patreon.com/mattbc
I warned that Paragon Health Institute would weaponize the DOGE Medicaid data release. Yesterday they published a brief targeting HCBS, autism services, medical transportation, and addiction treatment, core services disabled people rely on, as inherently fraudulent.

As I keep saying, the trick to post-truth authoritarian politics is not changing laws, it’s pretending that existing laws already allow anything. Words don’t have meanings, they’re merely tools to get what you want.
If you don’t believe me on this, listen to the foremost practitioner explain it.
The complicity of universities cannot be understated...
The few of us fighting back aren't enough.

I move to rename it “Schrödinger's Strait of Hormuz” …
I cannot say this enough. As a former trauma clinician I can tell you that one of the most traumatic things you can do to a child is to separate them from their parent. And this kind of trauma doesn’t magically go away, even if the family is reunified.
My heart shatters to think about it.
Given that Kennedy is airing all this on Fox News, it seems like that status quo is politically unsustainable.
The mental gymnastics we are doing to justify this war is astounding…

This is the first “highlight” of Sunday AM shows on my feed today. I fear for the rest of my feed.
Just a year ago, we heard reducing the deficit was so important Elon Musk had to fire as many scientists, forest rangers and Black women on the government’s payroll that he could find.
Now? 🤷🏾‍♂️
Note to @naswsocialworkers.bsky.social and the Association for Social Work Boards. Our compact does not need a mascot.

"We're not going to litigate whether the supposed need for this legislation that would contract voting access exists."
We are halfway through #SocialWorkMonth & I was thinking a lot about what finishing my DSW has meant to me. Wrote about how it shaped my current practice, rethinking myself as a "scholar", and how that relates to lifelong learning.

I am not a Constitutional scholar but I feel like “taking Cuba” requires and act of Congress 🤷🏻‍♂️
Trump always…

TW as I continue this but I just don’t know if I want to. These stories are so graphic but feel like stuff like this needs to be illuminated.
Like this story of someone using ChatGPT to created death lullaby to Goodnight Moon..

I thought I had a thread of these stories about the LLMs, suicide, and delusions going… maybe it’s time.
In case you’re just waking up, the U.S. has teamed up with Israel overnight to start an illegal war of regime change, apparently on a presidential whim with no involvement of Congress, and they are already committing horrific atrocities.
Hey, um, maybe AI isn’t ready to process medical claims and prior authorizations either.
The National Science Foundation is systematically being converted to the National AI and Quantum Research Foundation.
“I see it as the administration exerting political control over what has traditionally been NSF’s ability to fund the best science.”
Wrote a little something about qualitative research… again :). This time about #GenAi and its role or potential role in qualitative analysis. This is a complex issue and wonder what others think…
