To Those Who Fired or Didn't Hire Tech Writers Because of AI Replacing technical writers with AI-generated docs is a mistake you can still undo. Get them back. Get them onboard.

Heard that Snowflake laid off its entire tech writing team. I can only say this:

AstroとNext.jsのPrefetchを比較し、アプローチの違いを整理する | SAKUSPACE SAKUSPACE(サクスペース)は、フロントエンド開発〜デザイン領域のことを中心に、アウトプットする場として運営しているブログサイトです。

I just wrote this article about the Prefetch's differences between Astro and Next.js on my blog site.

It's quite interesting😌

Documentation is more than you think Everything that is involved in making great documentation everywhere and all at once.

Companies invest millions in their product but treat docs as an afterthought.

I disagree, it must be a core concern.

I wrote a deep dive into what it takes to write docs loved by millions, the value it delivers, and my experience in Astro Docs.

Accessibility For Everyone by Laura Kalbag Read the book online for free.

My book, Accessibility For Everyone, is now free and online as a website.

accessibilityforeveryone.site

The book was first published by A Book Apart in 2017 but it holds up! It covers web accessibility for designers, developers, content folks, and really everyone who works in tech.

There are some great people, @yanthomas.dev included, looking for their next adventure!

Oh hey, and me included, too! I'm not in a rush, but keeping my eye out for the right opportunity in docs or community leadership. If you've liked using or contributing to Astro, maybe part of that came from me!

The part of the team that worked full-time under The Astro Technology company did join Cloudflare -- and we are all happy for them! But, the overall Astro team is bigger: some of us worked as contractors or voluntarily, and currently depend on the very hard-to-get OSS sponsorships.

If you want to support Astro, one of the best ways is to hire the people behind it.

There are amazing people on the core team looking for work right now—like me!

You get a talented engineer on your team, and give them the sustainability to keep improving Astro for everyone.

👋 I'm looking for a full-time software/DX engineer role.

With 3 years of experience as an open-source maintainer, I am a great fit if your team needs an expert in Astro/Starlight, tooling, documentation, accessibility, i18n, and empowering OSS communities.

RTs appreciated! ♻️

[WIP] Lunaria V1.0 by yanthomasdev · Pull Request #155 · lunariajs/lunaria Description (required) This is a very early build of Lunaria v1 for a few tests in outside repos for performance and correctness. You might see a way to install it, but please do not use it in prod...

For transparency, I am not focused on maintaining the v0.1x version right now since I rewrote it from zero in the WIP v1 version. Thanks to @pkg.pr.new, you can test it out as I write it, although there's no documentation yet so it might not be a great learning experience. github.com/lunariajs/lu...

Lunaria is a separate project that isn't owned by Astro, so it doesn't have the same guarantee or resources. It's solely maintained by me currently.

You do have my word I will continue to maintain it for the foreseeable future since it is being also used in Tauri, SolidJS, VitePress, and others.
