Been away a while from here, coming back to see how things are going.

Certainly better than the bin fire that is X

Don't know why these companies want to go backwards when they will be scrabbling to change back once the penny drops

I have lost count of the times I have been asked this very question.

The PRs job is to present the facts and build trust with the reporter so articles at least have context and with a little luck are favourable.

But as Parry says, we can't get first look!

It's always good to put the world to rights with you, John. The headline was 100% to put the social back into this network in 2025.

It would be great to see an increase in attendance at in-person events for CIPR Cymru

Thank you for including me on the list, Rich. There are lots of new faces and new conversations to be had with this new PR community

This is spot on. Our time is precious and there is no space for hate, or to be honest IMO other people's pursuit of infamy. I just want somewhere I can share and chat with like-minded folk and perhaps learn a thing or two

Sharing with my (growing) network, seems like a useful tool for those making the migration from X

There is one word that defines successful change comms.

Clarity.

So, follow these 3 steps...

1. Simplify the message

2. Focus on problems and solutions

3. Use visuals and analogies

👉 Top tip: Using analogies is a great way for people to visualise the change that has yet to happen.

“Bluesky is an echo chamber!”

Our Reply: Echo chamber? Nah, we prefer to call it surround sound for facts.

Worked out nicely, against all probability we won our group.

Thank you Montenegro and well done Wales, a fantastic performance

To give off true old Twitter vibes, I guess I had better post some non comms things as well.

So tonight, I will be cheering on Wales against Iceland, big game tonight for our World Cup hopes and group seeding.

Come on Cymru

Said this, or versions of, too many times.

At times seniors don't have the patience to communicate the right way, hence the bundling together of messaging

I see Bluesky are calling for all major media outlets to introduce 'Share to Bluesky' buttons to their sites.

This would be a great step to mainstreaming the network and increasing engagement.

It feels like this network is really starting to cook

At least 20% and we are all very willing, it's no much more than what's in the JD. That is why a PR hire is such good value

Yes, on reflection I used it to keep up with my football team and see how X users react to big news events, but rarely posted in last 2 years

That sounds like a sensible plan, I am tempted to put a redirect over to Bluesky on my X account

Yes, it's coming together. Would be great to have a good comms community here. X has lost its way

It's picking up. Engagement is good, lots of interesting folks on here, loads of US comms and PR people and the Brits slowly catching up. Give it couple of months and it will be bustling

I used that term in a post today, but I am not a bot. I would love this to be a fresh new space, I just wonder if people have said, enough is enough and are happy not to even listen in on X

1 year ago 0 0 0 0

I wonder how many comms and PR people will hang onto their X account for listening purposes?

As communicators, should we avoid the echo chamber and open ourselves up to different opinions, or is enough enough, and should we just want to talk, share, and learn in a positive space?

Gratitude is so underrated. Having enough and switching off from pursuing more is the best way to find peace.

The Bluesky migration is interesting. By January I think we will be seeing more organisations and not just individuals make the shift and mothball their X accounts.

But can we convince our audiences to do the same. Industry moving is great but we need public to come with us.

Lots of work to do

Well, it looks like BlueSky is finally having its moment. 15m users and counting, the most downloaded App this month and posts across all platforms talking about the migration

Let's make it happen

As comms has to prove its value again as budgets tighten, this book seems very timely.

Reputation is everything

It has to be worth a go, Twitter or X has gone, and it will be great if the comms and PR world can create a new network here

The comms industry is tough, competitive, & exhausting. We face daily battles to prove our value, get labelled as “fluff” or “magic.” But despite constant need to justify worth, reputation is everything, and our work is essential. So, if things are challenging now—this too shall pass. Back yourself.
