This discriminatory law raises some disturbing ghosts. The EU could use its economic power to halt the slide deeper into the mire. Please sign and share. secure.avaaz.org/campaign/en/...
When a sitting president threatens the Pope and the Vatican, it’s way past time to go!
I don’t think people around the world realize how bad the attack on Lebanon was today. It’s BAD. Like 9/11 BAD. Hospitals are overflowing and do not have enough blood. We still don’t know what the death toll is.
This is TERRORISM. Pure and Simple.
April 8. Never forget.
Today is a huge step forward to giving every UK child a proper start in life. The two-child limit is being scrapped today, lifting hundreds of thousands of children out of poverty. Will you reshare and spread the good news? bsky.app/profile/38de...
If you don't, you're handing the far right a massive echo chamber. And yes, I know it can get unpleasant if you find yourself, as I have once or twice, at the centre of a pile-on.
❌NO DEAL❌
The Thames Water creditors have made a revised proposal to take over the crumbling utility. The terms?
🤮Upfront payments to dodge rules and regulations
🤮Funding conditional on future leniency
The creditors want to bribe the regulator and hold households to ransom.

I wonder what would happen if Hegseth knew that his huge Jerusalem cross tat is the symbol of a movement diametrically opposed to all he supports. The German Kirchentag was founded by survivors of the anti-Nazi resistance to prevent the Church in Germany being hijacked again by far right racists.
A powerful US spy-tech company linked to genocide in Gaza, ICE deportations, and Trump’s war with Iran is now expanding across Europe into hospitals, police and data systems. Please help to stop its expansion action.wemove.eu/sign/2026-03...
8/ None of this means giving up. It means being honest with our selves and facing reality.
Fossil fuel burning must fall hard and fast.
And we must protect and restore ecosystems. The sink matters as much as the smokestack.
The atmosphere measures what we do, not what we promise.
Truly one of the all time great takes
You wouldn't know it from much of the coverage but Reform are now seven points lower in the polls, on average, than they were six months ago
Not only. See my earlier post - or does your definition of the Southeast also take in Devon?
Mind you, we normally use the Waterloo line from Exeter, so we have to take our own food for that stage of the journey.
Overnighting from Paris means that even those who live in Devon (like me) can make it to most of Western Europe without the expense of a London Hotel.
Not necessarily. Travelling on DB these days can be a bit of a nail-biter if you have a connection to make. My train from Paris last Thursday was over half an hour late into Augsburg, where I was scheduled to pick up the NightJet to Venice.
Refugees shouldn't have to wait 20 years to know if they are safe. New rules are leaving families separated and lives in limbo.
Please join the campaign calling on Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood to scrap the 20-year wait. you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/do...
Our public services oughtn’t to be the prey of a profit-hungry US tech firm. Please sign the petition to tell the Government to scrap all contracts with secretive US tech firm Palantir. you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/st...
The company knows just who that somebody is and I'm pretty sure a government that gave a shit would have no trouble prying that information loose.
THE NERVE Among these were a false report about Bradford classrooms that appear nowhere on the internet and aren't credited elsewhere, an Ofsted inspection report quote that doesn't exist, a string of invented or misattributed quotations from Cicero, Livy, Hayek, Burnham, Noah Webster, Walker Connor, even Sir Roger Scruton, someone Goodwin claims was one of his biggest influences. Add to that basic factual errors, one claim that Boris Johnson's was in Opposition in 2019, mistakes about visa breakdowns, misunderstandings about how institutions actually function, and what you're left with is something far more troubling than polemic or spin. This is a body of work that repeatedly attacks the credibility of those in authority, but collapses under even light scrutiny, revealing a patchwork of half-truths, distortions, and, in several cases, claims and quotes that simply don't appear to exist.
Matt Goodwin does not deserve your time… but this review of his book does…
“This is a body of work that repeatedly attacks the credibility of those in authority, but collapses under even light scrutiny”
Sums up the book, the man and the political party.
Totally untrustworthy.
Germany and most EU countries are dumping US tech used by their governments.

The UK's biggest climate polluter wants to build a 100GW data centre - to be powered by burning trees. I've emailed North Yorkshire Council demanding a full assessment of the environmental impact of these worrying plans. Please email them too. www.foxglove.org.uk/campaigns/dr...
