dhuartson: Don't let anyone talk you out of spending $15 on a new hobby. That $50 will be the best $400 you ever spent.
This is not wrong.

Sigh.

The latest installment of our polycule/system dynamics commissioning project is done!
Loving the early 2000's cartoon vibes. like we're background character on Clerks or Drawn Together XD
Biiiiig thanks to @psicoyote.bsky.social for this one 😄
Let me get this straight:
I go to shop.
I buy thing I want.
I go home.
I don't get 'recommendations' for similar or related items.
I don't get a call asking how my 'experience' was.
I just exchange money for goods and services?
Genius!
Do tigers count as catgirls?

genAI is dying repost to make it die faster
I feel that instead of AI if we said Gynaecology Tools people would realise how ridiculous it sounds.
They're great if you are a Gynaecologist.
Or if you are going to a Gynaecologist.
But you wouldn't want to eat your soup with them.
Tie-down.

The most bad-ass rebuttal from Tite Kubo, the author of Bleach.
Found this on twitter so I thought I share it here
I'd like to stream, on the occasions I have I find I will actually draw when there is an audience, as opposed to just staring at the screen. However my Internet is slow so the stream is quite slow and buggy.
can't unsee
Alien vs. Predator… but it’s office supplies 😂
Psst, hey kid, wanna see some good news?

A box says parasol medical with a picture of a red and white parasol. Parasol is another word for umbrella.
Oh... Oh no!
Same, however I'm trying simply out of sheer spite.
The self and the cyberself in quiet introspection
A black and white pic of Iranian-French graphic novelist Marjane Satrapi holding a cigarette in her hands. Beside her pic is a text of her words: "The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same..."
I feel like now is a good time to share this again
Screenshot: As the technology became increasingly powerful, we learned, about a dozen of OpenAI’s top engineers held a series of secret meetings to discuss whether OpenAI’s founders, including Brockman and Altman, could be trusted. At one, an employee was reminded of a sketch by the British comedy duo Mitchell and Webb, in which a Nazi soldier on the Eastern Front, in a moment of clarity, asks, “Are we the baddies?”
Totally normal company culture you got there. Also, once again, so close to the point. If you are ever in a situation where you have to ask yourself if you are the baddies, the answer is always yes!
I have to admit, this made me tear up a bit.
I'm a sentimental old fool.
Comic depicting Daz as the new house speaker. A politician attempts to repeal gay marriage based on the fact he thinks all gay people are pedophiles. This triggers an alarm, to which house speaker Daz explains that, because he is trying to pass law that harms minorities for no reason, and that it is based on opinion that holds no scientific of statistical grounds, has earned the politician "40 minutes in the Horse Fly Helmet". The politician protests, saying that he is being punished for having an opinion [continued on next page/image]
House Speaker Daz calmly explains that the politician is "playing victim, after being called out for trying to harm innocent people with new policy" and has thus, earned 30 extra minutes in the horse fly helmet. Panel 2 shows the helmet placed on the politician, as he screams in agony, thousands of hungry horseflies feasting on his face. The muffled screams continue into panel 3, as Daz and another politician (getting ready to speak) stand watching. The last panel shows Daz turning to the new politician, saying "ok, next topic! Pull funding from hospitals to...what was it again? DataCentres?" The politician recoils in a panic "D-did I say 'datacentres??' "
[NEW COMIC]
Damn, that new house speaker doesn't mess around.
Congratulations!
A six panel comic. Two characters looking up at something in the sky. One of the characters pointing up is asking ‘Is it a bird? Is it a plane?’ Then the two characters are looking hard at the so far unseen object as they try to work out what the heck it actually is. The two characters eyes widen in horror as they finally work out what it is. They both leap to safety as an engine off an aeroplane chrashes to the ground. In the final frame one character is standing relieved that she hasn’t been flattened by an errant engine, the other is poking the engine with a stick while commenting ‘Apparently it was ‘Plane’.
Sally and Kathleen learn about not asking questions you don’t want to hear the answer to.
SFW outside of some OSHA violations.
(Yes Sally is planning to strap that to her car.)
