Collective Assets Graph — Common Weal Line graph showing generational social attitudes on a liberal-authoritarian spectrum

Join the dots: These statistics show the latent potential in Scotland if we took the resources at hand and built up our national sovereignty. Don't accept the "rules based order" of the global corporates. Those rules don't serve people. Indy Scotland can.

Scotland can lead the post-neoliberal world. By reclaiming our sovereign power and installing an IFC, we choose people over poverty and investment over austerity. The engine is ready. Let’s build. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏗️ #ScottishIFC #MMT #TaxJustice (11/12)

We’re told the National Debt is a burden & the state must "find money" like a household. These are neoliberal myths used to justify austerity. This fails by prioritizing markets over people. It’s time to reclaim our democracy. 🧵 (1/12)

If Carney thinks the fiction of the current economic system has been broken, why would we try to build the same false structure with different masters? It’s time for a peoples’/wellbeing/sustainable economic framework. #LocalDemocracy #MMT #Community

One of the most important points in Carney’s speech is the admission of the economic fictions (lies) that heterodox economists and #MMT have being highlighting for two decades. He exposes the political choices that keep ordinary people in a precarious financial state

That’s what the union took away from the Scottish people. You have hit the sovereignty nail right on the head.

Rationally managing the country's natural resources and 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 the revenues thereof, is also not to be sneered at. I humbly submit.

It’s a whole load of interrelated issues. If the Scottish government truly want to improve our standards markedly, we need to get away from statistic driven outcomes and drive at higher living standards. That takes money which, until Scotland becomes an independent currency issuer, it does not have

Just read the history. Scotland was forced to join the union. The people were rioting in the streets. No one wanted it. Those that did were the rich making money out of it. They had troops on the border waiting in case they didn’t win the votes!

Read the article. The Darien debacle was a result of the pressures imposed on Scotland due to English sanctions and embargoes.
