People have 'product review' brain where they think criticism is just listing off elements they didn't like or what they would have preferred. So much internet criticism of media is built around not engaging with art, but judging it entirely as a product to be consumed.

A small snippet from my new book, A Study of Scandalous Desire. Clara sits motionless by the window, her chestnut hair tumbling over her shoulders. She gazes out at the dreary town, watching as rain slashes the cobblestone streets below. Each drop feels like a heavy drumbeat against her heart. If only the rain could wash her away too, carry her somewhere far from this stifling place. With a soft sigh, she lowers her head onto her crossed arms on the window sill, the cool glass fogging slightly with her breath. The steady patter of raindrops is almost hypnotic, pulling her eyelids closed. The storm outside mirrors the turmoil churning inside her. Clara had always known this day would come, but now that it is so close, she feels trapped, unprepared. An impulsive part of her yearns to shatter the glass in front of her and leap, breaking free to flee to some distant place where the air doesn't stifle her with duties and expectations. But that is not to be her fate.

I am trying to to find more references in his other books, bc I really wanna know if that bomb in Helm's Deeps was Saruman using his special Maia knowledge or if there were variations of it around before that.

Something I keep wondering: How common was Black Powder in Middle Earth during the 3rd age? Bc there are fireworks around everywhere, yet no one ever had the idea to build a bomb for war before Saruman?
