As someone who once (favorably) reviewed Leaving Neverland, fairly horrified. www.independent.com/2019/03/26/l...

Relate to this experience/confusion profoundly!
Pavement inscribed with the phrase “I’ve never been to the moon.”
Lunar envy.
Context note: Leo was not angry at me…he’s normally a total sweetie…but frustrated with a “too-many-people” situation.
How I feel when hearing stupid arguments about the inevitability of AI uptake.
Enjoyed a very pious Easter service hosted by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence at Mission Dolores Park, San Francisco.
Imagine falling for Claude in 2026...

This particular moon.
Oh so now copyright matters.
One of my greatest fears is unknowingly ingesting a wire grill bristle. 😐
Invisible Man sculpture below Ralph Ellison’s former apartment.
Finally made a visit to the Ralph Ellison Memorial on Riverside Drive, below the apartment building the author lived in for many years.
Also: might be the best example of the power of rhetorical analysis I've read in years. "The insistence that diffusion is going to happen as a matter of course when a technology is still in the early adoption phase is either wishful thinking or authoritarian hubris. Perhaps both."
Finally had a moment to read this. Such an essential reading of the current tone of AI-adoption rhetoric.
💯
Why do I have to pretend that I'm going to print something in order to save it as a PDF. Why do I have to engage in a little ruse.

A sobering piece on the deliberate randomness and brutality of organized state terror, by @mashagessen.bsky.social.
This has happened twice now, and it’s stressful and embarrassing to have to argue to prove I have a valid pass (I have printed out correspondence and supporting documentation, but no one at Clipper or Caltrain has been able to reactivate my GoPass or give me a timeline for a fix).
I hope that’s true now. I was told last week (by Clipper) that all I needed was my Stanford ID and a verbal confirmation of the GoPass, but a conductor on my Friday evening commute didn’t know anything about that.
Would be happy to write an op-Ed on this Kafka novel…. @sfchronicle.com @sfstandard.com
I really wish someone/anyone at @caltrain.com could find a way to honor the GoPass purchased by my employer. Or at least instruct their conductors to stop harassing me when it doesn’t show up on my card until they can fix the problem. #clippercardnightmare
Increasingly convinced that “nothing new under the sun” arguments are not only lazy but intellectually dangerous.
Mirror for the sun…
I think the misogynist contempt that’s evident as a motivation in the murder of Renee Good makes her killing by a state actor more similar to so-called private violence—eg domestic violence homocides—than some arguments that rely on a firm distinction between state and private violence can sustain.
An essential thread—thank you.
