The story taking itself seriously but not trying to be self aware ironic about it feels good. Adaptation of a cartoon that lets the cartoon still shine through. Not sure the best way to describe it

First episode super charming. I appreciate that they’re trying to hit the important emotional beats even while compressing and changing parts of the material. Inaki Godoy’s Luffy is incredibly charming and probably my favorite part of the adaptation so far
