a bit of a departure from my usual style, but I thought I’d share the first few pages of a comic I’m working on. I was inspired by a crow I saw at the beach this past week.

Black and white comic page 1, about a crow on the beach. Text as follows: I saw a crow on the beach as I was walking, seeking for myself fresh air as I moved with a rambling sense of desperation known to only the hopeless and self-absorbed. The crow moved starkly in between the swell of raucous gulls, their bright wings snapping in the wind as they jumped and hunted, himself quiet in sharp and studious attention. Underneath his feet the beach was as it were of glass, hissing, shard-like, merciless spikes crashing yet more to the shore. He picked in between the jagged glassy boulders and I stopped to watch, wishing for the simplicity and quiet he was shrouded in.
