5. Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection - Did the impossible by making these games once again playable, this time with great online. The few major launch bugs were quickly fixed and now this is easily the definitive way to play MvC2 in 2024.

4. Balatro - If you've played it, you know.

3. Zenless Zone Zero - Yeah, it's a Gacha. But it also has surprisingly tense and rewarding fights (once you actually get to the endgame), and a story I found legitimately emotionally affecting, with some of the most uniquely cool-looking cutscenes I've ever seen in a game.

2. UFO 50 - the more of each game I played the more shocked I was by their uniqueness and depth. Shoutouts to Attactics and Avianos

1. Metaphor ReFantazio - improved basically every aspect of the gameplay from P5, challenging combat that makes you feel smart when you figure out a fight, and I think I'm in love with every social link NPC
