went to check out the techno rave outside Parliament and I don't think I have the data allowance to share a video from it but let me tell you: there sure is a techno rave outside Parliament right now, celebrating Orban getting ousted

Exactly my first thought. Still optimistic, but not loving that the only parliamentary parties are right, far right, and extreme right.
As the Hungarian elections show, the path forward for Democrats is clear: nominate a dude named Peter America
Well holy shit. ❤️🤍💚
👀🗳️ When polls close in Hungary at 7pm, there won’t be proper exit polls. Instead, some reliable independent pollsters will release embargoed surveys conducted just days before the vote. Their results are in line with their previous, already published findings (no surprises).
‼️ A record 66% by 15:00, with four hours to go - meaning nearly five million people have voted so far. 🗳 It's looking like an 80%+ turnout is likely, suggesting very low chances of anyone other than Tisza or Fidesz reaching the 5% threshold. The question is, how parliament will be divided... 🇭🇺
💥🇭🇺🗳️ WOW! 54.14% turnout by 1pm in Hungary’s historic election (vs 40.01% in 2022), where voters could end Viktor Orbán’s 16-year rule. Massive participation, in line with independent pollsters’ predictions – who also predicted a massive opposition win. Polls close at 7pm.
Hungary’s turnout is BRUTAL: 37.98% by 11am (2022: 22.77%), pointing to 75–80% or more overall. In such a scenario, Orbán’s chances look slim, and it’s unlikely any party beyond Fidesz and Péter Magyar’s Tisza clears the 5% threshold.

💥Heroes’ Square in Budapest is hosting the “anti-regime grand concert,” with tens of thousands bracing for the end of Viktor Orbán’s rule on Sunday. Chants of “Russians go home” are heard, while performers mock Viktor Orbán and Péter Szijjártó as servants of Vladimir Putin. 📸 444.hu
💥Russian intelligence services are more deeply embedded in the Russian embassy in Hungary than in Belgium, where NATO’s headquarters and several EU institutions are based.
Orban's fake uni (Mathias Corvinus Collegium) "was significantly enlarged in 2020 when Hungary’s Fidesz-majority National Assembly transferred to it 10% stakes in two of Hungary’s largest companies – energy firm MOL and drugmaker Gedeon Richter"

With this poll, Orbán is laying the ground to refuse to recognise anything but a win by him as legitimate, eg. www.hungarianconservative.com/articles/cur.... Such an outcome would drive a further wedge between Europe and the US government.
MAGAs: The left is escalating the rhetoric by calling us Nazis
Also MAGAs: Look at our new podium, featuring a Nazi slogan about the time Nazis wiped out an entire village in Czechoslovakia and killed up to 5000 innocent people in retaliation for one Nazi being killed.

Research article "“The Anti-Woke Academy”: Dutch Far-Right Politics of Knowledge About Gender" by Iris B. Seger. Abstract begins: The Dutch parliamentary far right has been considered a relatively liberal outlier to the gender politics of the European far right, yet recent years have shown the increasing anti-gender mobilization of the party Forum voor Democratie(FvD). Based on a theoretical framework of anti-gender mobilization, the far right, and politics of knowledge, this article explores anti-gender politics as a form of alternative knowledge production through a qualitative content analysis of the FvD’s online presence. Through applying Verloo’s concept of the episteme, this article’s findings show that the FvD mobilizes against epistemic institutions by claiming they disseminate dangerous knowledge about gender, which they argue presents a fundamental threat to society, captured in conspiratorial terms like “transgender ideology” and “woke.”

In "'The Anti-Woke Academy'" Iris B. Segers presents a content analysis FvD's online presence to highlight the anti-gender nature of the Dutch far right party's rhetoric.
